I tried to use my sword to deflect, but it shot out of my hands as if it were coated in soap. I grimaced lightly at that, "That was stupid of me..." I mumbled.

Chance Jameson
I sighed for a moment at that question, "Zeus." I muttered. I suppose I should be more respectful, but... Ugh...

Mackenzie nodded, Chance didn't seem to be too happy with his godly parent. "What's wrong with Zeus?" She asked, confused. She would have loved to be a child of Zeus, one of the big three, god of lightning.

Perry grinned as Cleopatra woke up. "Good morning! I see you seem to have slept quite well." She said, "That's rather rare. Either you're a deep sleeper or you were just exhausted. It's more likely the latter." She said, shrugging.

"He seems pretty full of himself." I huffed, "And he didn't tell my mother who he was. Never even knew I was a demigod. I had to get here myself, purely on the tip that my family would be safer if I was here." I growled. I realised I was ranting and grimaced, "Sorry..." I mumbled.

Mackenzie nodded, "I see." She murmured. "But that's the case with most of us." She said, knowing that it was true. Her mother had never known who her father was, probably because nobody ever seemed to love Hephaestus very much. She shrugged, "It's okay, we all get mad about this stuff some of the time."

"Can you do anything special?" I asked, "I heard a lot of campers can...". I tried to stop my expression looking too depressed as a toyed with the strap on my wrist.

Mackenzie looked at Chance and wondered why he was asking that question. Then, she realised, that maybe he didn't have any powers. That was strange, he was a Zeus kid. "Well.." She began "I can summon and am immune to fire but sometimes I set myself and everything on fire and the only thing it's ever been useful for is cooking, which I'm terrible at." She admitted, and decided to try and confirm her suspicion, "Why? What about you?"

"Does running into random objects all the time count?" I asked sheepishly. It kind of made me mad at my dad that I couldn't do anything... And so many other campers could.

Mackenzie shrugged, "If setting fire to everything and getting in trouble when you're excited counts, I'm sure that does too." She said. She knew Chance must have felt pretty bad about not being able to do anything though he was a Zeus kid. Mackenzie sometimes felt that her power was stupid compared to some others, but having none was just unfair.

I opened my mouth to answer, when I heard a small voice. "Hey! Chance! Wanna help my target practice?!", it was Coral with a bow in her hand and a quiver on her back. "No!" I yelled back. "Help me, or I'll shoot you!" She yelled. I rolled my eyes, I didn't expect her to actually do it. I heard a whooshing sound next to my ear and my eyes widened. There was an arrow embedded in the tree next to my head. "I said, get down!" Coral yelled. I looked over to Mackenzie with a pleading look in my eyes, I didn't know how to get out of helping Coral and I certainly didn't want to end up skewered.

Mackenzie waited for an answer, then heard a female voice, seemingly calling Chance. She looked down and saw a girl she had seen before with Chance and had thought that maybe she was his girlfriend, maybe not. She watched as an arrow just missed Chance's head and couldn't help but giggle. She didn't know what to do. Chance didn't seem to want to go and help but she didn't know how to get him out of it.
