Amber walked proudly down the sidewalk, her head held higher than usual, but her heart was in her throat. It beat so loud, she couldnt even hear her or Damon's footsteps. Of course, not many people were on the streets, but it wasnt vacant. The coffee shop would come up in a few minutes. "We are close." She told him, smiling.

Damon smiled at her, his bright teeth flashing against tanned skin again, and his eyes flickered up, already smelling the aroma of coffee. He used to think it was the most delicious scent in the world. Now he found it revolting; for obvious reasons. He put his hands into his jean pockets, still walking close by her side, his dark eyes flickering over the buildings, towards the shop, where he could now hear the clinking of cups and spoons.

Amber opened the door to the shop, and waltzed in, swinging the door wide behind her so Damon could follow. She walked up to the counter and was greeted by one of the workers. "Ill take the usual, with extra foam." Turning around to face Damon, Amber smiled at him, and asked, "What would you like?" Her brown eyes glinted.

Damon smiled again, his eyes flickering up to the order board before looking at the worker at the cashier. "I'll have a grande regular latte," he said, his tone laid back and easy. His eyes glinted a bit; drinking coffee was like drinking something flavored with pine needles; distasteful and horrid, but not too unbearable. He ran his fingers through his hair, then looked at Amber, his eyes on hers. "You want me to pay?" he asked, his tone a hopeful offer.

Amber almost handed the cashier her money, but she smiled at Damon's offer. "Sure, thanks." Her smile was sincere as she took a sip of her drink, enjoying the warmth that flowed through her.

(Eh, writers block, and I keep starting to say Willa lol)

Damon smiled back, slipping her a quick wink before handing the cashier a ten, keeping his eyes on Amber's. "Keep the change," he said quietly, then took his drink and sipped it, successfully not grimacing. "Where would you like to sit?" he asked, gesturing to the empty tables in the building.

Amber smiled wider when Damon winked at her, and giggled quietly. She glanced around the nearly vacant coffee shop, and pointed to her favorite spot. "I always sit in the corner. Its quiet and no one really gets in the way." Amber suggested, shrugging slightly, as she took another sip of her foamy, warm drink, her brown eyes looking up at Damon, awaiting his answer.

Damon smiled, keeping his eyes on hers while he moved towards the table. Only when he was fully turned towards it did he move his eyes, then set his cup down on the table before pulling out one of the chairs, gesturing invitingly to Amber.
