Damon picked up his pace and began to run through the forest, wanting to get this over and done with as soon as possible, and get back to Willa. Wow, things had happened fast; he hadn't realized just how much he felt about her until that first kiss, and after that it just all unfolded. Even though he cringed to think it, she was...better, somehow, in qualities and personality, then his wife had been. Cringe; yep, it hurt to think that, but he realized it was true. And this time, he could be with her forever, never having to helplessly watch her die. It seemed too perfect, but he didn't want to ruin it with suspicions now.
He refocused as he drew near the city, and then slowed to a fast walk, moving towards the store, which was thankfully not far from the outskirts of town. He smirked to himself when he saw the woman still sitting there, then sighed, putting on an apologetic face and running his hands through his hair. He walked up to her and leaned against the wall beside her. "Hey, I'm sorry I didn't get here earlier...the mattress fell out when that girl took a sharp turn." He rolled his eyes and sighed in exasperation. "It took forever to get it back in and get moving."
