Raquel smiled, hurriedly and yet thoroughly grooming the big roan stallion, then put the bucket away, grasping his tack. She placed the saddle pad on first, then the saddle, cinching it tightly and nudging him to make sure he wasn't holding in air. After that, she took of his halter, draping it over his stall door and slipping the bridle on, watching him take the bit and making sure it was over his tongue. She grinned, then unclipped the crossties, placing one foot in the stirrup before pulling herself over in one smooth, fluid movement, slipping her other foot into the stirrup with practiced, perfect timing. She clicked her tongue gently, sending the stallion forward to meet Jake, where he sniffed the mare, nudging her flank. Raquel laughed, then pulled the reins lightly, moving the stallion so that she rode side by side next to Jake. She grinned, sighing happily. "This is the best so far," she murmured, then corrected herself. "Apart from you, of course," she added, smiling.
