'I'll get in the air in a moment.' Adam situated Ava comfortably in his arms before unfurling his wings and taking to the skies. Within moments he was above the treeline, not too far behind Alice and Damon.

okay. Alice thought trying despratly not to think of her time with Damon so far. Which worked.

I saw how much she was focusing on not thinking about us, so I decided to help her out a bit. I gently, apologetically, pulled my hand away from hers, giving her a "sorry" look before putting on a smile and turning to face Adam and Ava.

Alice sighed, knowing it would help.

Adam managed to put a smile on his face when Damon looked back. He had to admit that he was pretty happy with Ava, but he felt weak for just letting Alice go like that. He shrugged the thought aside. "Where are you guys going to eat anyway?" he called up to them, his voice full of curiosity.

"Don't know..." Alice said.

I glanced at Alice, then shrugged back at Adam. "I just came here," I called out. "I don't know what's here that's safe and edible."

"Me neither," Adam admitted and sighed. "I've lived here all my life too. There's plenty of edible berries around, I know that much. Most of them are sweet and juicy. I'm not exactly sure about what else. I haven't really looked at tree fruits."

"Show me where some are. I can tell whether they're harmful." Alice said.

I looked at Adam, blinking. "Are there any...animals?" I asked, somewhat tentatively. "As in, meat?"
