Shakaku, the young Firebender, was doing her daily routine, getting out of bed. The lazy tired Firebender woke to the sound of Sayya, Shakaku's baby saber mooselion, yowling in her ear.
"I'm up, I'm up..." She replied yawning. Shakaku stood up and stretched while Sayya jumped down from her bed. Sayya pawed and her feet until Shakaku lightly scratched her behind the ear. "Are ya hungry? Does an apple or a fish sound good to you?" She asked the small cub. Sayya looked up and made her meow like grunt at her. "I'll take that as a yes..." Shakaku grinned as she walked into her kitchen and placed a small apple on the ground.
The small cub quickly started gnawing on the apple, barely grazing it with her small fangs. Shakaku smiled and walked over to her closet quickly throwing on her warm fuzzy Water bender coat. "Ah.. Nice and warm..." She grinned before walking back into her small kitchen. Shakaku grabbed a small bowl, that was hidden under a pile of junk, and placed a small uncooked fish in it. She looked at the unappetizing raw fish before looking around to see if anyone could see her. She made a little evil smirk and did some light fire bending. She grinned at her small and now cooked fish. "Perfect." She said admiring her work. She then began to eat the small steaming fish.

The Mole grunted at the Water Tribe girl's sudden appearance. How had she managed to find him without him knowing? He was usually so alert. And so quiet.
Stupid leg. He thought, trying to come up with a quick lie.
Sometimes the best lie is the truth. His master had told him.
"No," The Mole said. "Firebenders attacked me."
But a better lie is the half-truth.

Shakaku sighed as she put her bowl up and patted Sayya on the head before walking out the door. "Bye Sayya I'll be back in a little while. Stay here okay?" She smiled at the young cub. Sayya looked up and made a quiet purr-like growl before gnawing on her apple again. Shakaku smiled and closed the door to her small makeshift igloo house.
Shakaku pulled up her hood, hiding her bright orange hair, as she walked along the icey streets looking around. She smiled as she watched the warm steam escape her mouth. Her reddish orange eyes flickered from one store to another. "Wow..." She grinned as she looked at everything shining brightly in the morning light. Shakaku breathed in deeply, inhaling the cool morning air. "Wow the air is so much cleaner here than it was in the Fire Nation!" She exclaimed while exhaling. "Oops!" She gasped as she covered her mouth with her hands hoping that no one had heard that. She looked around quickly before hastily walking down the street.

Laruna, more commonly known as Luna, and even more commonly known as "that runaway/rouge/bandit girl with the bird", woke up and sat straight up in her soft bed of moss. She hit her head on a stalactite, as usual--she always forgot about the stupid thing--hanging from the ceiling of the cave. She slowly crawled out of bed to check the weather. The usual, slightly cloudy skies with a bit of humidity. She sighed. She was stuck on the island, jumped off a orphanage's ship. She was to be sent to become a servant at some palace. Pah! she thought. I'll never be a slave. But I do wish something would happen...it's so boring here...

Kumori shifted in her seat high up in the tree. The wind seemed to play with her long hair and tug at her clothes. Lost in her thoughts, Kumori would have never noticed if anyone was looking for her. She wouldn't care anyway. She sighed, lonelier than ever. Zuko, once her childhood friend had been banished. Pff... more like banished forever... he's never gonna find the Avatar..! she thought negatively. Or maybe he will.... he has Iroh with him... Maybe they'll just settle in some place in the Earth Kingdom instead of looking for the Avatar. Maybe they never want to come back! Kumori shook her head, as if it would clear her thoughts. "Too much negativity..." she murmured, turning her attention to the ever changing clouds in a futile attempt to keep her mind off that day.

((hmm... I don't like my first post, but then again I never do. ))

Katara wasn't dense but shrugged off the feeling he was not telling the whole truth. "Let me have a look." She said putting down the food and un caping her water putch.

Shakaku sighed as she slowed down noticing no one had heard her. She brushed a single orange strand of hair behind her ear as she looked around. She grinned as she saw a small vender's cart sitting by the road.
Shakaku grinned and quickly approached the vender, looking at all the fruits and vegetables that usually wouldn't grow in the Northern Water Tribe. "Wow! I didn't know this place sold this kind of food!" She grinned as she started picking around in the stacks of food. She then picked up a small hedge of lettuce and a few small fish. "Cool Sayya is going to love dinner tonight." She smiled as she handed the vender the her Fire Nation money. But she froze when the vender glared at her for a second. "Um... is there a problem, sir?" She squeaked looking at the almost angry vender. He stared at her for a moment longer before putting away the money and handing Shakaku her small bag of food.

Reluctantly, The Mole sat against a tree and pulled up his pants leg. Even the rustle of cloth made him want to cry out. The charred flesh gave off an angry heat, like fire was still boiling inside. He hated being submissive like this. Hated facing a stranger while wounded on the ground.
Water Tribe. He told himself. A healer? Not the enemy. Although stranger things have happened.
But at the moment it hurt too much for him to care.

Shakaku sighed as she boredly stared at the ice sidewalk as she walked. She had nothing to do and no one to talk to. She had no friends in the Water Tribe, which she also tried to avoid. But she was still lonely, but then her mind flickered to the one she loved, Zuko. She wondered how he was doing and if he had a lead on where the avatar was. But thinking about Zuko made her sad so she quickly snapped herself back into reality. But as she did so she found herself walking off the edge of a frozen sidewalk and into the freezing water.
She gasped for breath as she tried to hold herself above the water, but alas she was not a good swimmer. She gasped and looked around to see if anyone was around to help but she was alone. No one would come to save her.
As she tried to stay afloat the freezing water felt like needles stabbing into her skin. Just being in the water made her lungs ache for fresh oxygen but she could not give them oxygen because she was now under the water, slowly but painfully drowning.

Katara winced. "That's a really bad burn. I'm going to have to have more water but I can help the pain." Katara bended the water onto her hands and gently put them on the persons' leg. The 'water gloves' tecnek helped heal some of the burn and took most of the pain away. "I'll be right with the water." She said after awhile and giving the wound a look over. "Stay here and keep it elavented." Katara quickly rushed to a small lake and had just knelt down when she saw smeone under the water. Katara quickly froze the water under the person and then had the water push it up into the air. "Are you alright?" She asked bending the ice-water over to her side. "Don't answer, it was a dumb thing to ask." Katara then moved her hand and gently pulled the water out of the person who was a girl lungs and mouth.
