◣xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx◢ The forest was quiet, if one did not listen. Pan was listening, though. Her ears pricked naturally at the slightest movement, the quietest rustle of pine needles on the forest floor. Quietly, she walked through the dense trees, keeping an eye out for any berries - preferably not poisonous - or something else that she could eat - again, preferably not poisonous. As she tip-toed over a delicate moss bed, she reached out to a nearby tree and used it for support as she treaded lightly. Ba Sing Se lay just beyond the forest, she kept telling herself, just to drive herself onward. While Pan was a wanderer, she still perked up at the idea of the city, despite its ridiculous restrictions. With a quiet sigh, she eased her way through a dense thicket, brushing her pale fingers over the lichen-covered bark. Faintly, she could hear the trickling of a stream, or a creek - a source of water, nonetheless. Pan had only ventured through this way to Ba Sing Se once, but she did know her way: she wasn't too far off the lower ring of the great city, which was a comfort in itself. In her opinion, the lower ring had much more sustenance and practicality about it, while the higher bounds were awfully posh and feasted on 'rare delicacies' that did nothing good for their health, usually. Picking her way through the trees, hardly disturbing the twittering birds overhead, she eventually found herself closer to the stream, its flowing waters becoming louder with every step she took. She peeked out through the trees - those shadow benders seemed to be lurking everywhere and she didn't want to take any chances before she even reached the city - and found that the coast was clear. Well, all clear but for what appeared to be a water tribe gal and a.. white leopard? A polar leopard, maybe? Connecting the dots in her head, Pan came to the conclusion that this girl was probably from some water tribe and had ventured off for Ba Sing Se for whatever reason, with a conveniently vicious animal as a companion. Still, she didn't look too dangerous, but at the same time, Pan didn't want to get handed in to the authorities for her recent.. work, so to say. Sneaking about and gathering gossip was one thing, and spreading false information for a little payment was another, but lately she'd been seen with some dangerous people, and she wanted to keep her neck if she could help it. So, with a nimble sprint, she slipped back into the denser trees and peeked through the gaps, following the stream until she came a fair distance from the girl and the white leopard. Slipping through to the stream, Pan immediately glanced up and down the length of open air and saw that she was safe - for now, at least. Kneeling down, she used her hands to cup water up to her mouth. She drank deeply and quickly, wanting to get back into the gloom as soon as possible.
