OKAY YES LET US START. And to think when I first made this I thought no one would join
By the way, taz may or may not have a winged tiger
Raigho

AVATAR TAZMIN

Taz crouched in the bushes, his dark, wavy brown hair partially covering the light blue arrow tattooed onto his head. Similar tattoos wound their way down his arms to his hand, which he brought up to his stomach as he heard a low rumble. It was dangerous go to into town. Especially now that this town had a new battalion of shadow benders guarding it. But he was starving...there had to be some kind of fruit or vegetable he could by down there. He heard a growl from beside him and he looked up at the large white tiger, whose massive head was hanging over Tazmin's shoulder and he frowned, scratching underneath the chin of the tiger, whose growl turned into a purr. "Soon, Raigho," he said, and he stood up, grabbing the cloak off of Raigho's back and fastened it around his throat, pulling the hood over his head. "I'm going to get some food. Try and catch some, I suppose." He hurriedly turned away. He knew that Raigho didn't understand what he was saying, but that was probably the tiger's first priority now that Tazmin was gone. Besides, he didn't want to see the tiger tear apart an animal. It always made him sick to his stomach. He walked down the long hill towards the town, his cloak dragging along the bottom and picked up sticks and branches and leaves. He didn't care. His eye was on the fruit stall, a plump old woman already selling to a young girl.

airbender kayla kuazuk
Name • Call her Kay.
Age • 15
Mood • Lil grumpster
Tagged • Nobody yet.
The sound of wood cracking against wood filled the air. Kay watched with wide eyes as the two fighters dodged and moved swiftly, blocking and attacking each other. Their movements were fast, but Kay could make out every last one of them. She noted quietly how the taller of the two brought down his staff onto the others, then swung the other end around to hit his side. But the smaller was ready, his stick already up to block it, and before they even connected, he was moving in for his other attack.

Out of the corner of her eyes, she could see the shadowbenders in their armor watching the two battle, and she knew it was all just to entertain them. As she thought that, the beautiful-just-a-moment-ago movements turned to planned out acting, and Kay instantly lost her appetite for the fight. Slipping out from the back of the small crowd, she turned and began to mosey on down one street, stopping occasionally to see what the vendors were selling. Kay paused at one small, makeshift stall, eyeing the array of trinkets and tiny goods, thinking about how little money she had left. She glanced up at the tinkerer, an old man who waited patiently for her to make her choice. Finally, her gaze landed on a tiny charm sitting inside a small, cast-iron box, and she picked it up.

It was no bigger then her smallest fingernail, and it was in the shape of a flying bison. She couldn't tell if it was actual silver, or just a bright metal. There was a tiny hoop connected to it, and Kay grinned inwardly. A certain friend of hers would love the way it glinted in the sunlight, and she realized how much she wanted it. Kay looked back up at the old man, who continued to watch her silently. "How much for this?"

The man smiled. "The charm is free." Kay blinked in surprise, and opened her mouth, but the old tinkerer continued. "The box is two copper." She wasn't sure if he was offering for her to take the charm only, or if the box was apart of it. After a moment of thinking, she passed him two Earth Kindgdom copper bits, then picked up the small box. She tucked it into her pocket. Kay thanked him and turned away, in the process of attaching the charm to the little ring at the end of her hair, when she bumped into someone wearing a heavy cloak. The charm slipped from her fingers, but she paid it no mind. "Crap, sorry." Kay took a few steps back and smiled apologetically, wondering if she looked as sheepish as she felt. She was usually better with watching where she was going, but this time... not so much. She hoped the person wouldn't get all angry, like how some people did, but you never know with strangers.

Okay this is a pretty sucky first post but it'll get better. I'm doing some hardcore multitasking with my schoolwork at the moment so blehhhh.

A longsuffering sigh escaped me as I walked though a dense forest area with my polar leopard Kai. The shadow benders had come. Long before this had happened I was sent off on yet another long journey because if I would have known the future to come, I would have stayed and fought. Stupid elders and they're stupid predictions! Ugh, Tui and La probably had something to do with it. I leaned against Kai as we came to a stop at a river and traced the birthmark that looked so much like the mortal forms of the two water spirits I was thinking about. My waist length hair fluttered in a passing breeze as I found myself standing out and in the open. Kai let out a rumbling growl as I began to step away from him but soon just followed me to the water's edge. I was for once, at a total loss. I had no idea where I was and I couldn't return home so I was stuck here. Wherever here was. In my travels I had passed through quite a few places but had never stayed long. I only knew the water tribe territories as well as my own but I was sure that the shadow benders would have driven them from their homes long ago.

The forest was quiet, if one did not listen. Pan was listening, though. Her ears pricked naturally at the slightest movement, the quietest rustle of pine needles on the forest floor. Quietly, she walked through the dense trees, keeping an eye out for any berries - preferably not poisonous - or something else that she could eat - again, preferably not poisonous. As she tip-toed over a delicate moss bed, she reached out to a nearby tree and used it for support as she treaded lightly. Ba Sing Se lay just beyond the forest, she kept telling herself, just to drive herself onward. While Pan was a wanderer, she still perked up at the idea of the city, despite its ridiculous restrictions. With a quiet sigh, she eased her way through a dense thicket, brushing her pale fingers over the lichen-covered bark. Faintly, she could hear the trickling of a stream, or a creek - a source of water, nonetheless. Pan had only ventured through this way to Ba Sing Se once, but she did know her way: she wasn't too far off the lower ring of the great city, which was a comfort in itself. In her opinion, the lower ring had much more sustenance and practicality about it, while the higher bounds were awfully posh and feasted on 'rare delicacies' that did nothing good for their health, usually. Picking her way through the trees, hardly disturbing the twittering birds overhead, she eventually found herself closer to the stream, its flowing waters becoming louder with every step she took. She peeked out through the trees - those shadow benders seemed to be lurking everywhere and she didn't want to take any chances before she even reached the city - and found that the coast was clear. Well, all clear but for what appeared to be a water tribe gal and a.. white leopard? A polar leopard, maybe? Connecting the dots in her head, Pan came to the conclusion that this girl was probably from some water tribe and had ventured off for Ba Sing Se for whatever reason, with a conveniently vicious animal as a companion. Still, she didn't look too dangerous, but at the same time, Pan didn't want to get handed in to the authorities for her recent.. work, so to say. Sneaking about and gathering gossip was one thing, and spreading false information for a little payment was another, but lately she'd been seen with some dangerous people, and she wanted to keep her neck if she could help it. So, with a nimble sprint, she slipped back into the denser trees and peeked through the gaps, following the stream until she came a fair distance from the girl and the white leopard. Slipping through to the stream, Pan immediately glanced up and down the length of open air and saw that she was safe - for now, at least. Kneeling down, she used her hands to cup water up to her mouth. She drank deeply and quickly, wanting to get back into the gloom as soon as possible.

Kai's low and threatening growl wasn't the thing that alerted me to another person's presence. No, I had learned many things in my travels starting with bending the water within plants and truly feeling the spirits of the forest and every connection that went from the tallest tree, to the lowliest of weeds. Unfortunately I couldn't really pinpoint any specific location because I had yet to master the art of mediation so I was weaker in some aspects of bending. All I knew, was that me and Kai weren't alone and that unnerved me more than I was willing to admit. Instead of letting Kai go off and scare whomever was around with his intimidating stature and overall appearance I went with another technique that I had learned in my own place of birth.

Taking a deep breath, I opened myself to feel the water around me. My body instinctively began to sway with the flowing waters as I waited. My body stiffened and a frown tugged at the corners of my mouth which in turn Made Kai nudge me slightly to make sure I was fine. His concerned whine went ignored as a slight disturbance in the water, and almost imperceptible hitch in it's flow told me everything I needed to know. I could try to attack from this distance but I'd probably only be able to manage a slight ripple. "Ne, Kai. Who do you think was watching us?" His answer came in the form of a slight huff. If someone meant us harm, they would have attacked by now so I just settled down next to Kai and leaned against one of his legs.

TAROU

>> the earthbender from omashu
location: en route to ba sing se tagged: pan

▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀

Tarou woke with a start, jumping to his feet and planting them solidly in the soil beneath him. He scanned the area wildly, concentrating intensely on the vibrations that he could feel through his feet. He began to move away from the riverbed, as the flowing water was impeding on his seismic sense -- his earthbending teacher back in Omashu, Kai, had taught him how to "see with his feet" by sensing the vibrations in the earth caused by movement. Despite his mastery of the technique, the vibrations he felt were still being distorted by the ebb and flow of the river, making it impossible for him to pinpoint anything in his vicinity. His brow creased in irritation -- he had definitely felt something moving close to him, or at least close enough so that the vibrations could wake him from his peaceful, river-side nap. He stretched his arms above his head, feeling the bones in his neck and shoulders pop, and began walking quietly along the riverbed. There was no point trying to go back to sleep now, not with the possibility of shadowbenders lurking in the area. A sizeable piece of earth dislodged itself from the ground and hovered to Tarou's side with a quick jerk of his hand; he'd learned from his three days of traveling that going around unarmed, no matter where you were, was an undeniable death wish. Tarou had set out from Omashu three days prior with the intent of finally bringing his father back home -- his earthbending teacher had been wholly against the idea, as the main roads were fraught with peril [mainly shadowbenders who liked to pick on unsuspecting travelers] but Tarou had been insistent. He'd tried to avoid trouble as much as possible by taking less-traveled routes and diverting away from the main road to Ba Sing Se by traveling through forests, and his caution had, luckily enough, paid off -- he could see the towering Earth Kingdom stronghold in the distance.

Tarou continued walking down the riverbed for a solid block of time, and just as he was about to pass off the earlier movement as the work of his imagination, he spotted a figure in the far distance, crouching by the river's edge, drinking from the cool, clear water. The person -- whoever it was -- was alone. As Tarou quickened his pace and began to approach the figure, the chunk of rock that had been hovering by his side fell to the ground. He didn't want to come off as a threat -- if the person was a shadowbender, the last thing he wanted to do was to start a fight and attract more attention. Making sure there was an ample amount of space separating himself and the stranger, he let his hands fall to his sides. "Excuse me," he began politely. "Are you, by any chance, traveling to Ba Sing Se?"

[[ sorry for my late reply! uvu i was shopping for the whole day yesterday and decided to sleepover at my friend's house in the end. ]]

Pan gave a small sigh of relief as the cool water flowed down her parched throat. Her ears pricked suddenly at the faint oncoming of feet padding along the ground, and immediately her guard shot back up again. Eyes wide, she leapt to her feet just as a figure approached, and she swiftly brought her short knives free from their hold in her sleeves. The stranger spoke, and still Pan remained tense and ready to strike. He didn't seem to be much of a threat, but she didn't dare lower her knives as she spoke. "Yes," she replied, "The lower ring." she added, her eyes narrowing as she edged towards him. She didn't want a fight if she could help it, but she knew that she was coming off as quite hostile and thought she had better lower her knives slightly. So she did, and she peered at the boy curiously. "You're for Ba Sing Se, too." she stated, knowing that it had to be his destination, "But who are you?" Pan asked sharply, her eyes narrowed and her shoulders tense still. Her feet were set in a wide base but she could still make a run for it if she had to.

A heavy sigh escaped from the fatigued fire bender's pale lips. Traveling wasn't something that often bothered Ryuu. Actually, it was what he enjoyed most-- but the concept and action of doing it indeed took a toll on the body. His muscles ached and his bones felt stiff with the long exertion on energy he had committed lately. The young man was constantly shifting his weight searching for the right motion of walking that would make his tired being even the tiniest bit more comfortable. In contrast to his physical form, Ryuu's spirit was bright and eager. His plans to reach Ba Sing Se by tomorrow were going as smoothly as they possibly could with his bad luck. If his pace remained mostly the same, give or take a few breaks and sleeping, he would be there in no time at all. A sly, but hopeful grinned spread its way across his face, Ryuu's violet eyes coming back to life with the thought of having a real bed to sleep on for a change. The reminder of what lies in Ba Sing Se was enough to make his body reboot itself for work. His limbs straightened from their former dragged appearance and his posture was returned to its normal arrogant, business-like state. Put into action by the will and determination to have a comfortable sleep, Ryuu picked up his pace and started a very slow, but tenacious walk again. This time, with more bounce in his step. Ryuu was always one to persevere to the end. He never gave up, even if his reasons for doing so were selfish or not very moral. If there was one thing Ryuu hated more than feeling tired from traveling, it was loosing to someone else. The young man was always in it to win it, no matter size of the prize.

The sound of a large multitude of voices was enough to crack his determination though. Off to the east of his position, much less than a quarter of a mile away, the faint but audible sounds of people talking and negotiating were present. He lifted his neck and turned his head towards the commotion swiftly. It sounded like a market place or town was nearby. The young man contemplated visiting. His body told him to keep walking the path he was on, but his mind was curious and wanted to explore. The contradiction in his actions rendered him motionless altogether. His long fingers began to tap an impatient and repetitive tune on his side, as he so often did when he was confused or thinking about what to do. With another heavy and this time, annoyed sigh, he walked towards the town. Ryuu mumbled words to himself about his inability to decide, but quickly recovered from such thoughts as soon as he saw the market place and the splendid amount of curios that were already visible to his eyes.
