You said you'd always be there for me, but you're not. And it's because of me. It's my fault. It's my fault.
Sven, once Simba, is running away. When he was little he was always groomed to be the lord of a great fortune and estate. He was given rights and honors, and was led to believe he'd be happy forever. He was wrong, though. When he was about fifteen, his father died. Sven knows it was his fault. He would swear his life on that; everyone's always told him it was his fault. It haunts him, every single night. He has nightmares of the fatal day he caused the death of someone so wise, so kind, and so loved. All he ever wanted, when he was little, was to be like his dad. But the day his father died he put those dreams behind him; he knew they were out of reach, now. He's a murderer, and he has to live with that. The guilt eats him up, and he makes it harder on himself by keeping the secret close. Only his old family knew the particulars of his fathers death, and he hasn't spoken with them for years. He ran away from home at 15, after his uncle was named regent for the manor and fortune he was supposed to inherit. Good. Sven doesn't want it. He wants to forget about the life he once had. He moved out of the East and to the West of the city, in the slums. He made new friends, friends who didn't know and didn't care about his past. Hakuna Matata.
There is an itch, in the back of Sven's mind, though. Like he's slowly strangling something as he sits in the ghettos and does nothing with his life. He feels like he's missing something, something important. But he's lost, and he's in the dark, and he can't quite put his finger on it.
{ the lion king: for those who haven't seen the movie, Simba is the main character, he's a lion, the son of the king. When his uncle kills the king, Simba blames himself and runs away, dogged by those who would kill him, too. His uncle takes over the pride in his stead and ruins it. Simba, meanwhile, hides away and grows up from cub-hood to a mature lion. After realizing his responsibility, and accepting who he is, he decides he needs to go back and save his pride, and take his place as king. He goes back to Pride Rock, where he used to live, and defeats Scar. He becomes king and helps turn the pride back to prosperity. }
