Clara walked towards the carriages, alongside Titanus. Thankfully, Hawkes had released him temporarily from the ropes, but her wand was pointed at his face. Watching with widened eyes, Clara took a small step away from the pair. "We should move along to the carriages now, right, Professor Hawkes? Titanus'll go straight to the headmistress when we arrive." she said respectfully, in a tone she seldom used with teachers. Somehow, she knew that Hawkes was usually pleasant enough, but she might just hold a grudge against the Slytherin boy. Giving the Muggle Studies teacher a slight nod and a faint, false smile, Clara gently tugged at Titanus's hand and began to drag him along before she could stop them. The carriages rested a little way off, the ones that they always got up to the school. But now.. instead of being drawn by nothing and moving on their own, great skeletal horses with sweeping wings guided the carriages. Her jaw dropped, because these.. these were Thestrals. She'd been so annoyed to learn in Care of Magical Creatures that they could only be seen by people who had seen death. And then a great blow struck her heart, and she registered that she'd seen people die today. Her stomach churned uneasily, her grip around Titus's wrist tightening as she pulled him up into one of the few empty carriages. She couldn't bear to look at those strange creatures, despite her curiosity about them. Sitting down, she took a long moment to get her wits about her, her head slowly ducking into her hands. Several seconds later, she looked up again and offered Titus a vague smile. "You should go to a proper healer when we get there. My healing skills aren't exactly.. advanced." she shrugged, but she felt distracted, and her gaze turned to the window. Another Thestral stood patiently by the next carriage. She swallowed sharply and tried to distract her mind from the matter of death.

All Apollo wanted to know was what the hell a 'Witcher' was. But, nevermind that, he was sure he'd figure it out eventually. He let out a laugh, however, at the troll comment. "Mm, yeah, trolls would be quite a bit more interesting. Possibly also a bit more deadly. Depending on the species, anyway," he commented in response. Of all the people to be stuck with when a train flips over and you almost die, Zoe wasn't a bad choice. Of course, not being in a situation where you could possibly die was preferable. But hey, it would probably be great to be stuck with Zoe in a situation that wasn't life or death. She had an interesting sense of humour. And she said interesting things. Apollo quite liked her. Then, she somehow managed to climb up and jump out onto the wall outside of the compartment, and he nodded when she said she could probably pull him up. "You sure? I'm not exactly a little guy..." he muttered, but didn't wait for a response, climbing carefully so that Bilbo wouldn't fall off his shoulder. Eagle'd fly up as soon as Apollo was out. As soon as he was carefully perched at the top, he held Bilbo against his chest, extending a hand to Zoe. He was, actually, a bit embarrassed. Not that Zoe was pulling him up, because girls could be pretty damn strong, but he was embarrassed that he couldn't get up there himself. Oh well.

"Hand Bilbo over first." Zoe said, reaching a hand all the way down. "I don't want him to fall when you come through." She continued. She knew how important the mouse was to her friend, but Zoe liked animals a lot anyway and was always keeping an eye out for them and taking care of them. She really needed to hurry up and get Apollo out before the train maybe moved again but she knew he wouldn't go anywhere without his animals, just like she would for Deneb. The cat was behind her waiting to see if it needed to go get help. It was good at getting people's attention, with its little stub for a tail, making it obvious that he was Zoe's cat, since he was the only cat that looked like that at Hogwarts. Apollo took his time thinking about handing the mouse over, it was typical Apollo, worried about his animals, just like Zoe would be if she was where he was. But eventually he handed the mouse over. Once Apollo did, she put Bilbo over on the side near Deneb. Zoe didn't worry in the least bit about the cat eating the mouse, because Deneb didn't like mice much at all. "Alright on the count of three, you need to jump with both arms out stretched, you are taller so you should be able to reach the top of this door where you are, use that to help level you up as I pull." Zoe instructed, carefully outlining her plan. She did have random thoughts on how this could go wrong, but she kept them all to herself as not to worry Apollo.

REGULUS CLEMENT-DAVIES
ravenclaw;; male;; seventeen;; halfblood;; seeker;; animagi
If you don't hunt it down and kill it, it will hunt you down and kill you.

He lifted a hand and drew it slowly down his face, brain fuzzy and slow. A low groan bubbled from between his lips as he cracked open his icy blue eyes and strained to see through the mesh of light and dark above his head. Blood trickled lazily down the side of his face from his temple, and he also turned his aching neck to spit blood from his mouth. The animagi's throat clicked sharply as he swallowed dryly, trying to rid his mouth of the acrid, metallic taste. His long brown hair was a thick, tangled mess around his head with some falling in his face. One arm, his left, felt broken, from the strong throbbing fiery pain coming from it, and his back ached from where he had hit the glass window of the compartment as the train rolled onto it's side. Shards of glass lay about him and on his clothes from the shattered door. A couple were even embedded in his leg. What had happened? The last the Ravenclaw seventh year remembered was a loud bang that deafened him for a few moments and the train tipping before he was knocked unconscious. Being a half blood, he was certain that a bomb had gone off, but now all seemed quiet. It had to be the work of the so-called Witchers, and that fact made him disgusted to be related to muggles.

Another groan tore itself from his dry throat as he pushed himself into a sitting position. Luckily, the window had not broken, but his back was drenched in a cold sweat, thus making his clothes stick uncomfortably to his skin. Regulus had not changed into his uniform yet, and so was clad in a pair of plaid jeans with a dark shirt and a heavy leather jacket and thick military boots. As he sat upright, he drew his injured arm to his chest and became aware of the pain in his right ankle; it felt like it was sprained, badly, which meant he couldn't walk. From the silence, it seemed as though he was alone, but it wasn't too dark outside from what he could see. That meant the Feast hadn't began, and there didn't seem to be any hint of the familiar turrets and towers of Hogwarts nearby, but Regulus could easily be wrong. Feeling for his wand in his pocket, the Ravenclaw seeker withdrew it, studying the wood. How could he get help? He'd never been able to produce a patronus. Red sparks! That was it! He could send up red sparks and hope someone saw them and came to his aid; he wasn't going anywhere with his sprained ankle and broken arm on his own. Pointing his familiar cedar wand in the air, Regulus silently sent a cloud of red sparks k to the air through the gap where the door had been, where they hung for around thirty seconds before disappearing.

Nergui & Lola
[On the Hogwarts Express | With Paul]

Lola was quick to grab the man's hand as soon as he was in reach, pulling him up with the help of the charm. She adjusted to fully pull him out, standing to drag him away so Paul would have room to climb onto.

"Right, I got him, you can try to climb now. And don't forget the cats and owls." Lola told her, leaning back over the window briefly before pulling away again. Where did her wand go, though? She pushed a lock of loose hair away from her face and looked around. It was rather far away, pushed to a perilous side near a ledge, possibly from Nergui's feet fishtailing out when she pulled him up.

She stood, walking down the side of the car, picking up her wand as quickly as she could and dropping down almost immediately. She was furiously scanning the scene, but she could tell nobody that wanted to harm her was around. Jukes was safely perched on the side of the window, preening and looking around eve so often. That owl was much like her sometimes, she noticed.

"Jukes, c'mere," She muttered, going onto her belly to tap the owl's legs and urge it to go on her hand, which it did with a slight flap of its wings. She pulled him close, petting his head with a finger, her legs pulled in towards her. She sighed, wanting to forget everything that just happened.

John Phillips, Hufflepuff, 6th year / Hogwarts' Express / With: Cora / Tags: Cora, Alice, Leah
John laughed at what she was saying about the Slytherins, "No, I, uh, I don't suppose they ever do." He gave a shrug, "People can surprise you, though." He spoke with a smile. "And, it was very smart hiding in there. I didn't exactly stay put too long during any of that..." John really hadn't, almost as soon as he'd heard the guns, he and Lakely had made their way from the compartment to search for anyone who was injured. Then he'd just sort of... well, he'd done a lot. He paused, thinking. He'd taken on a Witcher... briefly but, still. He nodded as she spoke, "Yes, a Hufflepuff through and through." He smiled at that, obviously rather proud of his house. Professors were running about now, everything seemed to have been just about cleared out. He'd been watching as they brought people out, trying to pick out who each student was. Of course, he didn't know everyone. Some he couldn't see well enough and many he'd never even met. Now that he had a moment to think, he'd went through everyone he'd seen in his head. Soon, he came to a face he hadn't come across yet and his heart sank. Leah. He hadn't seen Leah. His eyes shot to the train. "Cora, I'm afraid I have to cut this meeting short..." Leah hadn't come out. "Get to the carriages, you'll be safe there. I have to find someone." How could he have done this? How could he have not gone to her first? John didn't wait for a reply before clambering back into the train. He had to find Leah. There was a knot stuck in his throat as he searched. Leah couldn't have seen to get out on her own. Inwardly, he cursed himself for not having gone to get her first. He hoped to god she was all right. If anything had happened to her, he knew it would have been his fault for not having gone after her.

{ Paul | - | Aboard the Train | - | With Lola and Nergui | - | Gryffindor }

Paul was immensly glad when Nergui was safely out of the carriage, not it was her turn. She put her wand safely away, fround the still slightly furious Rauf, who was twice his size from the puffed out feathers, and eased his onto her shoulder. She eased the cat's cage onto the top trunk and began to climb up, stepping and gripping carefully. Once shewas teetering on the top trunk she pushed the cats cage out of the window to safety, then, with Rauf gripping tightly to her shoulder, Paul gripped the edge of the window, wary of the glass, still feeling the edges bite into her palms and pulled herself up and out. Paul huffed when she finally kneeled out the outside of the cart and began sucking in deep lung fulls of air. She was beyond relief and wanted nothing more than to be in her bed sleeping. "Getting down should be a cake walk" She said, a bit of her usual humor returning to her voice. She looked up at Lola and laughed. She saw students reuniting in the field around them and she was glad to see they were mostly alive and well. She wandered how many casualties there were if there were any, and she wandered of any of them were her friends.

✣ cora pearl windell ✣

Cora smiled at him and his words, it was remarkable, she reflected upon his complete lack of... she couldn't quite put her finger on it. She looked at him with a slightly furrowed brow. "Yeah..." She agreed. "They can."

And then the subject had passed, just like that. It was but a fleeting moment, but Cora felt... different. What was it about him that she couldn't understand, that she couldn't... couldn't imagine being like? "Oh," she said. "Thanks, but I just did what I had to do." She said, unusually modest. But then again, it wasn't exactly genius, hiding in the trunk. She just could tell that something was coming and she did what she had to do... Wait, was it that? Modesty? Maybe... but it didn't quite fit. There was a silence, and then he declared his pride in his house. Cora looked at him again, brow slightly furrowed. What was it? She pondered that, not responding, until suddenly, he set off. She full-out frowned this time. Oh no you don't, she thought and clambered after him into the train.

Nergui & Lola
[On the Hogwarts Express | With Paul]

Lola suddenly started to laugh as well, making her owl fidget on her hand. She slowly leaned back, finally falling onto the top of the car, still laughing. Jukes hopped off her fingers, making an annoyed screech. The Hufflepuff slowly stopped her laughter, curling back up again, covering her mouth with a hand.

"Getting down... would be easier." Lola admits, when she finally stops laughing. She, too starts to notice the other students gathering. So they were safe. Another weight was lifted off her chest at the realization that there might be someone still out there. A question hovered on her lips, but she silenced it. In due time.

She saw a few sparks shoot up in the corner of her vision, and immediately yelled. She calmed herself, pointing towards where she saw the magic. "What was that?" She said, her voice going low. She started to tense up again, but relaxed when she realized it must've been magic. There were other people trapped as well, and maybe not all had enough luggage to manage to climb out, or were in critical condition. "We should help them." She finally realized.
