He smiled as well, then leaned in slowly, tilting her head upwards slightly as he kissed her again, his lips lightly and gently brushing hers. He pulled away after a brief moment, and resumed stroking her cheek. "Wow," he breathed, his voice gruff and husky.

"Definitely," he murmured, his gaze locking with hers. God, her eyes were beautiful. Everything about her was. He sighed and pulled her to him, gently rubbing her back with his free hand, while his other rested against the back of her head. He rested his chin on top of her head, letting his eyes wander about the room, taking everything in.

She laughed good-naturedly, the sound graceful and entrancing. "No duh is right," she said, laughter still sparkling in her voice. "I'm surprised you've been able to lay low for this long! How do you do it?"

He was very content to sit there like that with her for hours, but there was an Earth out there, waiting for them. He sighed and pulled away, hesitantly and reluctantly. "We have a party to get ready for," he murmured, stroking her cheek once more with his thumb before standing.

She laughed again. "That's all too true," she said, then her face grew serious, and she looked at him, her eyes searching his face. "Do you miss your old life?" she asked gently, her voice soft and soothing.

He sighed deeply, pulling her to him and hugging her closely for a good few minutes, pressing his lips into her hair. "It won't be long, love," he murmured, rubbing her back again. "Not long at all, and then you can stay."
