"Yeah," she whispered. She wished she hadn't said anything. That memory only made her sad and afraid.

DJ pulled her into a one armed hug, trying to comfurt her.

Alex returned the hug, resting her head against his chest. "Sorry for bringing it up," she said after a moment.

'It's okay." He said, kissing her forhead.

Alex sighed. "I have to go home," she said quietly. She knew she'd have to face it sometime. And she knew her cat would be wondering where she was right about now.

"Okay." DJ said reluctantly.

She stood, leaned down and brushed her hand against his hair before walking out the door. She shifted to her wolf self and walked at a trot in the direction of her house.
