Nala shook her head and started off to the house.

Katin heard Tikaani and answered for them. "Liam, this is Tikaani. Liam is Rita's son. Stephon is her brother."

Dakota looked up,hearing Katin's voice. "Kat?" Her eye's met Phrye's, her expression slightly worried.

Alex snorted quietly as she watched Nala disappear. "Crush on me. Right." she muttered, but she didn't start running again. She was still pondering what Nala had said about DJ.

Nala paused as a strange scent caught her attention. Curious, she followed the scent.

Alex looked around for the gray-and-white form of Link instinctively, only to remember with a sharp pang in the region of her heart what had happened mere hours ago. She clenched her jaws tight shut, growling loudly to relieve some of the grief. It was easy to ignore the pain in this form. Shaking her head, she set off alone in the direction of her house, breaking into a swift sprint when the trees got thicker.

Alex bounded up her porch steps, panting from her run and ducked through the dog flap she'd installed. Sid, her cat, hissed loudly at her before recognizing who the large russet wolf was, and leapt off the counter where he'd been perched to wind himself in between her legs, purring a greeting. His eyes glowed in the half-light, as did hers. "Hi, Sid." she barked, and padded into her room, where she jumped up onto her bed. She didn't bother to shift to her human form, as she knew she'd be haunted by nightmares as she slept. She closed her eyes and felt Sid leap onto her bed and curl up beside her, still purring. She drifted off to sleep, and didn't dream.

Nala let out a yelp as something cold went around her neck. She struggled, then stopped as someone grabbed her scruff.

Alex, unaware to the danger Nala was in, twitched in her sleep. She was dreaming about the encounter with DJ and Nala, and her dream switched abruptly to the scuffle at the vet's.

Nala looked into the man eyes, then closed her eyes as she was tranquilized.

Alex jerked awake, panting. Her dream had woken her, and she stared around the pitch-black room warily. She relaxed as she sensed that there was no danger. Sighing, she figured she'd go for a walk, calm herself down a bit. She bounded off her bed and out the back dog-flap, and into the forest.
