She woke slowly, stretching her lithe arms high into the air as she sat up in bet, rotating her body so that her slender feet fell out onto the hardwood floor, covered by a thick Persian rug. She stretched even deeper, smiling slightly as she felt her back pop, heard it give a loud crack. She yawned and rubbed her eyes before standing, still a little topsy-turvy from the night before. She smoothed her cold feet into her plush black slippers and then made her way, completely unstable, towards her door, then down the hallway at a zombie-like pace, moving slowly and swaying with each movement. She reached the stairs and ran a hand through her hair before grasping the railing and easing herself down each step, one by one. She smiled in victory when she reached the bottom, only to meet her brother's sarcastic and skeptical gaze. Just the way she wanted to start the day. She grunted at him, incapable of human speech until she had eaten. He grinned and pushed her gently in the direction of the kitchen, where she doggedly went, still at a zombie-pace.

He had been awake for at least two hours when Phyre finally woke up, still slightly hungover. He always woke right when the first rays of the sun touched his windowpane; he couldn't help it, it was like clockwork to him. His sister, on the other hand, would sleep until her body was too tired to sleep, or until some other bodily function made her wake. She would sleep until two in the afternoon, if only her bladder could hold out that long. He sighed as he heard her come downstairs and finished setting the table, clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth in a skeptical gesture. Not good to go to sleep drunk and on an empty stomach...but Phyre did it anyways, quite frequently. It troubled him, and he helped as much as he could. He watched her with a fond, loving gaze as she entered the kitchen and sat down before a plate heaping with bacon, eggs, and fruit, then headed into the kitchen himself, sitting down across from her. He would be leaving for his walk soon, but wanted to eat with his sister before he left.
