Jasper ran downstairs, his hair wild and untidy and his eyes still heavy with sleep. Please tell me I'm not too late! He thought desperately, hoping he would still get an okay Pokemon. He threw a quick good-bye to his mom over his shoulder as he ran outside and sprinted to the lab. There was already a large gathering of people there.

He slowed as he entered the building. He stopped beside another soon to be trainer, and took out his blue and white bandanna from his pocket and tied it around his head. "Hi," he said after he was finished, turning to face the girl. [Sophie.] "Are you excited for getting a new Pokemon?"

Jasper thought for a moment about the Pokemon he would want. He really didn't mind who his starter would be, and he knew he wouldn't get first pick since he was later than the others. No Starters were flying though, so Jasper was not really concerned with getting a certain one.

Niko put his hand on the alarm clock. "Don't normally set the alarm..."his thoughts trailed off as he silenced it and turned over back to sleep. A few moments, or minutes later he suddenly came to realization. Today was the day. He bolted up quickly for being half asleep and swiftly got his things. He got everything ready in his bag as fast as he could, before heading downstairs through his neat house and out the door. His parents worked, but they had said goodbye to him yesterday.
He rushed to the lab, regaining composure before opening the door. There were others already there, but it didn't appear he was too late. He breathed a sigh of relief. He stood near the back alongside Annaleise, "I don't know what type i'm going to get but, are you planning on getting anything specific?" he asked her casually, a slight smile on his face. He had waited for a long time to finally start out on his pokemon journey, ever since he was a young kid. Looking near the front he spotted the professor.

Phoenix sighed looking at the girl with her headphones loosely hanging. She thought to herself what she wanted to find in a pokemon. She knew she didn't want an overactive pokemon, she just needed a cool level headed companion. But knowing her luck she would get an over active and adrenaline filled pokemon. Sge hoped picking a grass type would increase her chances of getting a calmer pokemon.

Peering over the heads of the other youths, Annaleise regarded them all with a cool neutral gaze. However, upon hearing a murmur beside her, she glanced over her shoulder to see a boy about her age or so. A sweep of chesnut hair rippled over his forehead, a soft colour in comparison to her own platinum mane. Blinking mildly, she replied, "I'll be happy with whatever I end up gettin'," Anna said smoothly but quietly, surveying the stranger. "What are you gonna get then?" she added, her gaze flickering back to the professor as she spoke.

Kurt let out a weird, squealing-like noise to signal he was happy as he walked into the front door of the lab. He couldn't believe he was meeting Professor Oak for the first time! He was so happy, he could explode with happiness. His eyes darted back and forth, looking at all the wonders within the lab. While looking around, he babbled words so inaudible not even Kurt himself knew he was talking about. "I want a water type!" He exclaimed loudly, disrupting the peace in the lab. Realizing his mistake, he clasped his hands over his mouth and softly murmured, "Sorry."

Phoenix found herself looking back at the kid who had made the commotion, she was pleasently surprised. Oh he is cute, she found herself thinking looking at Kurt. He looked like he would be a fun guy to travel with, sure he was a bit hyper from what she could tell, but at leadt he knew when to quiet down. She found herself walking over to him and introducing herself. "Uh hey there." She said biting he lip. "I heard you want a water type?" She asked a bit jokingly.

Blaze walked up to the kid who shouted he wanted a water type. "Water type? I'm gettin a fire type! They're the best!" She grinned and put her headphones back on. The kid seemed nice, even if he did like water types. She herself always thought water types were to uppity, while grass types were to weak. Fire was strong, but not uppity. "What's your name?" She asked.

It was great, knowing people could forgive him so easily for random outburts he had. Removing his hands from his mouth, he replied to the girls. "My name is Kurt Moody, and yes! I do want a water type! My mother had a grass type, and my father had a fire type, so why not water type? Plus, they're my favourite!" He gave a big smile and adjusted his bookbag in a happy swing. Each step he took resembled how happy he was, as he was literally bouncing with each step. Just entering the laboratory made him forget about being homesick.

Niko sighed anxiously, "I really don't know." He paused for a moment. Having spent the last night up late waiting had made him tired. Quickly he shook off that feeling though and looked more alert again. "Any type I end up with, i'm sure i'll be able to train it." his voice gave way to some confidence. There was plenty of information out there on raising pokemon, so he didn't have any reason to doubt himself. He turned to the person he had been speaking to, "What's your name? I'm Niko. Might as well introduce myself to another newbie." he said and held out his hand to shake.

Finally Professor Oak seemed satisfied with the amout of teens that had bothered to show up. "Alright young ones, gather round. I know you are all excited to claim your pokemon, but please be calm and be careful with your choice." Oak put his hands behind his back and stepped aside and revealed the row of pokemon, "They are seperated by region, their picture and information is on a card beside their pokeball." He told them. Then he nodded his head, "have at it. Once you choose I will give you your Pokedexs."

Paul grinned and stepped forward and started walking down the line of pokeballs. She could choose Charmander. He was cute, but she wander about the flame on his tail. If it went out he could die. Talk about glass cannon, not to mention she would feel guilty. She moved on, then paused at cyndaquil....aww it was so adorable.
