Blaze ran and looked at all the fire pokemon. That one was to much like a dinosaur, that one looked blind... She kept looking for the perfect pokemon. Finally, she reached that perfect pokemon. It looked like a chick, and it was adorable. She immediately picked up its pokeball. "Oh my gosh!" She exclaimed. "Its perfect!" She snuggled the pokeball. She took off her headphones and smiled. "Oak! Hey! I want this one!" She brought it over to him.

Phoenix smiled at Kurt. "Well that sound like my family! My brother had a fire type and my dad had a water. He said the water types are really easy to get along with." She smiled turning around as the proffesor spoke. She happily walked over and looked at all the different choices. She looked at some of the other pokemon first, unsure if she was really wanting a grass type. Her eyes caught the sight of Turtwig and she walked over looking at the picture. Turtwig, he evolves into Torterra...she thought to herself imagining the giant pokemon. She looked at the proffesor nervously as she picked up the pokeball smiling at it, she picked up the card with the pokemons infirmation on it too looking it over quickly. "I think i'll go with Turtwig." She said to no one in particular smiling at her choice.

Annaleise nodded, knowing exactly how he felt. In truth, she had no idea how to raise a Pokémon of her own - she was intending on 'winging it', as it were. Despite her lack of experience, she was sure that she would learn swiftly enough. After all, she had always been quick to learn theoretically - why should raising and training a Pokémon be much different? "Fair enough," she muttered, her lips pursed as she looked over the boy again. A sharp nose, a deteremined glint in his eyes; he seemed alright. As he extended his hand to shake, Anna slipped her own into his and shook briefly but firmly. "Nice to meet ya, Niko. Tha' name's Annaleise." she replied, her thin lips barely curling into much of a smile. "Maybe after this," she gesured about the lab, "We could battle or somethin'."

As she spoke, the professor announced that they could pick their own Pokémon at last. Waiting patiently as the others rushed forwards, Anna glanced at Niko as she caught sight of a rather clumsy Squirtle. Most disregarded him, as he tripped over his short feet and skittered across the white tile floor on its hard shell. Immediately, she knew that he was the one. "I'm gonna go for this wee Squirtle here," she announced, carefully approaching the wriggling little critter and scooping him up into her arms. The Squirtle peered at her, but was more interested in watching the other starters scuttling about Anna's feet. Looking back to Niko, she raised a pale eyebrow, "Any ideas on who ya wanna pick now?"

Sophia squealed excitedly and ran straight for the Squirtle, but someone else got it first. She looked at the Totodile and smiled. The information card said it was a loyal Pokemon, but it had a tendency to bite. She grinned. Sounded dangerous, and awesome.

She carefully picked up the Poke Ball and walked over and waited in line to get her Pokedex. She was so excited to have finally gotten a Polemon. And one of the ones she wanted at that.

Professor Oak nodded to the two trainers, "alright, step over here and I will give you your Pokedexs."

Paul picked up the pokeball, eyes wide. Slowly she pressed the button and the little pokemon was released in her arms. She cradled the pokemon tp her chest and the fire pokemon made a little sound of pleasure. Paul grinned. It was a female! What was it, a 12% chance of them? awesome!, "I'll take you, and I'll call you Diana." She murmured. She stroked the pokemon's head, and the newly named Diana nuzzled into her neck. Paul stepped forward to recieve her pokedex. Oak gave her a smile and handed her the device.

life is a highway was playing in her ears. She turned it down though so she could hear the professor. "Ready to receive my pokedex sir!" She stood straight holding her pike all in one hand and saluting with the other. Her bag fell off, it was to big for her. It had been her dads. She bent down to retrieve it. "Sorry about that." She apologized to the professor, blushing. She held her hand out expectantly.

Phoenix walked over to the proffesor and happily took her pokedex. She looked at the pokeball again and nervously pressed the button releasing the pokemon. The turtwig stood on the floor looking up at Phienix before she put her hand out nervously to the pokemon. The little turtwig happily jumped ontop of Phoenix landing on her shoulder making weird sounds. It was a male by what the information card said about it. "Well, i guess i'll have to come up with a name for you now." She said smiling scratching the turtwig under its chin. "How about Spades?" She said as the new pokemon nodded its head. She had always had a thing for playing cards.

Kurt jumped up and down and flooded to the Pokemon immediately. Squirtle? No... Piplup? Nope... Mudkip?... Mudkip? Mudkip! He thought as he searched through the Pokemon. It would make sense to take Mudkip. Everybody loved Mudkip and it WAS a water type. "I'll take this one professor!!" He said while raising the pokeball containing Mudkip into the air. His smile stretched ear to ear as Oak handed him his Pokedex. "I can't wait to start my adventure! I hope to become as good as Lorelei from the Elite Four!" He said happily to his Pokedex and the pokeball. Lorelei was his hero, as she was a master with water and ice pokemon, his two favourite types. Placing the pokeball to his forehead, he murmured, "What should I name you? Oh, I know! Droplet, like a water droplet!" He placed the pokeball onto his belt and gave a smile as he placed his Pokedex into his bag. His face hurt from smiling too much, but he couldn't care less. This was a happy day in his life and he didn't want to be frowny at all.

Niko smiled again slightly, "Sure, we could battle." As his attention turned toward the pokemon, he glanced at the selection. Which one? His eyes looked over all the available ones down the row systematically, a serious look on his face. "Its a big choice." he said to Annaleise when she asked. He continued to study them, until finally deciding. "This one." he said, picking up the pokeball of Chikorita. He let the Chikorita out on the white floor of the pokelab, it looked up with cute confidence at him. He smirked at it, it was pretty cute. As he returned it to its pokeball another thought came to him, "Since your choice was Squirtle our battle might be not so difficult." he said in technicality. "Not that your choice of Squirtle was bad though, its great against a few types."
He looked over at the line for the pokedex, "We should get a place before the line gets too long." and as he said it he walked a few steps to a place in the line and waited for the item like the others. When he got the pokedex he took a moment to look up the pokemon he chose in it, a quiet moment passing with his eyes glued to the screen.

Pondering for a brief moment, Anna looked down to the Squirtle in her arms. He gazed at her fearlessly, "Iorek - that's your name." Annaleise said, as the Squirtle shrugged indifferently. Smiling slightly, she nodded to her new companion and watched as Niko selected his own Pokémon - a Chikorita, she noted. The grass Pokémon was adorable, she had to admit. Tailing after Niko in the queue to get a Pokédex, she watched as the others selected their starters too. In response to Niko, she shrugged, "Water can be a strong type.." She took a Pokédex from Oak, thanking him politely as she turned and tapped at the buttons with one hand, cradling Iorek in the other. Scanning the Squirtle, she soon became aware of plenty of new information regarding the little critter. Feeling a little crowded in the lab, she gestured for Niko to follow her outside to the open plains. "We could battle out here," she suggested, stowing her dex into the side pocket of her backpack as Iorek scrambled out of her arms.
