Holding onto time

((haha, taking advantage of amber's bad eyesight! not really, raven's just far away and dirty))
Raven stepped out of the shadows, tired and sleepy, looking at the ground. She noticed a jacket on the ground and picked it up. She looked it over and suddenly realized it was her brother's! she heard a noise and pulled out her knife, but saw Talon holding amber's hand just across the lake. An evil grin spread across her face as she melted back into the forest.

Talon peered across the lake. "What'cha you looking at?" He asked amber. He noticed a slight rustle in leaves, but nothing else as his eyes swept the bank.

"Just a horror." Amber reassured him, well, more herself than him. They were still walking when they got over to where they had started out. "I'm cold." She said as she a cold shiver went up her spine. Though it wasn't all that cold outside... she was probably just nervous, right?

[Strangey]

"Here, take..." Talon began before he realized her had left his coat on the other side of the lake. He turned to get it, but then realized it wasn't there. This sparked a suspiciousness in his mind. Horrors weren't smart enough to track smells, they wouldn't have taken it. His eyes instinctivly slanted sideways as a slight rustle in the leaves grew nearer. He turned back to amber. "i think we should be getting back now." he told her, a little too calmly. His eye caught hers and tryed to send the message that they needed to leave.

(( Haha, I said that shiver thing so that Talon would reach for his jacket. HAHA I bees a power playa! ))
"Okay." Amber replied, sensing his urgency even before the look in his eyes told her so. She glanced at where his jacket had been laying. It was no longer there of course, but she couldn't figure it out... yet.

Talon grabbed her hand and walked/pulled her away. He suspected family issues, but wasn't sure yet. He trudged along the path before reaching the road again. He felt bad for dragging amber along, but had to get out of there. The less he knew, the more dangerous the situation was.

Amber slightly frowned for being dragged along, but in a time like this, she didn't mind it so much. She had no idea what this was, it could just be another horror, but something about Talon's urgency made her nervous. She was just glad that she stocked up on weapons before they left.

Talon reached the cracked pavement and turned, looking back into the tree's. He wasn't sure what his sister was up to, or if it was even her work, but he didn't like the feeling he was getting. a tree rustled next to him and he chopped it open instantly, but leaves fell harmlessly to the ground. "C'mon." he muttered, starting towards her house.

"Okay?" Amber peered over at the place Talon had opened the leaves, nothing. She was getting a little bit confused, if this... person thing was going to hurt/ talk to them, whatever it planned, why was it hiding so much? 'Just get on with it!' She thought slightly frustrated.

Talon waked foward and froze, hearing something. The reason he didn't thrash out instantly was because her couldn't place where it was coming from. He stopped and narrowed his eyes, ears tuned. he ground was slightly vibrating and the noise was getting louder. "What...?" He began before it became apparent what the noise was. Just as he began to analyze what was happening, they came. The horrors busted out from all around, blocking all escape plans. Every time Talon slashed one away, another replaced it. He wasn't prepared, and his weapons were soon bloody and worn but they didn't stop.

Raven smiled as she slinked away into the shadows. She was stopped in her tracks by the president. She had been plotting her newest plan when she ran into the dark side leader. She had been about to run for her life when he stopped her to tell her he was after her brother. From there the plan had evolved. With her wish form revenge and his army of horrors, they could establish an agreement. He was angry that her brother had abandoned, and with his scent, trail, and self, an attack could be launched. "I believe a payment is in store." He whispered in his gravelly voice. She winced away, he smelled like rotting flesh. "Weellll...Um...I...I..." she stuttered. "didn't plan on paying, did you?" He laughed. raven had promised that if her brother died, she would give up her soul, becoming a sort of half horror. she could be given back her mind at anytime the president chose, but whenever he wanted, she would become his slave, doing his killing for him and only having vague nighmarish memories. even once she died, her slave form would continue to do his bidding untill her skin rotted away. "No...It's...It's just that he's not dead yet!" raven told him. A hole filled grin spread across the president's face as he guestured back to the battle. "well then lead the way." He told her. Raven went back to the forest edge, watching the events solemnly.

Amber gave a small scream before taking out her two 6 inch, hand dagger. She started instantly slashing everything that got in her way. There were many of them, way more than usual that's for sure. She wondered where they all came from, the most she had ever fought at once were20, maybe 30, but never this. She was glad for Talon, always grateful she had him to fight along-side of her.
