I picked up the cord and plugged it into an outlet. This would help her. I turned the dial to high heat and crawled to her side.I pulled her onto my lap carefully and rested her head on my shoulder.

I smiled at Cassie's enthusiastic reply.I shift at temperatures below 42 degrees Fahrenheit. I have done a lot of testing. I accidentally shifted in the fridge once. Don't ask.I said humorously. I leaned against the back of the chair Cassie was sitting in and thought. Most of Cali would work.

Inu looked at Cassie for moment and thought. As he thought for a few moments he placed his guitar back and started flipping through some books.A week or so. Do you need more time?he asked curiously. He did not know much about her still. Inu was not aware if she had a job or not and wanted to make sure she had work to be done.Inu ha d relaxed job that required some research during the summer. Not much time was needed for his work. He did write research papers and run some tests in the other seasons. In the winters he disappeared and "completed research on the language of wolves". So eventually Inu would have to shift for the winter. He really only needed a couple weeks of pack life to get enough information. Suddenly Inu's brain worked and he looked at Cassie.What about your parents? And school? Don't you have homework?

Cassie looked at him. "Well, I was homeschooled for a while. My mom pushed me to get me ahead so I worked on school stuff for about two summers. I ended up graduating last year. I have not gone to collage because I have no idea what I want to do with my life. As for the job I worked as a lifeguard in the summer so at the moment I do not have one. My father left my mom and myself as soon as he found out I was a Neko. His father had been and it skipped a generation somehow so he did not like me because I was like his father that he did not like. As for my mom, the day after I graduated, she stopped talking to me as much. She bought me a small house and pays for it and she moved again. She said it had to do with work but I do not think it did this time." Cassie said and looked at him. "What about you?"

Inu looked up at Cassie then back down.Siblings and mother died in a fire. And my father has disappeared. I came from a whole family of nekos. I pay for this place with my research and occasionally dip in into the inheritance. College is in progress. Funny when you write thesis paper about yourself. Or the other half of yourself. Inu looked away and started fiddling with his books again. So no serious idea for college?

Gavin smiled gently as he watched Kori cradle the girl. His ear twitched and he turned around and looked at all the unpacked boxes. He looked back at Kori for a moment before walking over to a box and opening it. It was a bunch of silverware. He sighed and realized he really doesn't have the energy to deal with unpacking right now. He sat down in front of the box and leaned on it gently. "So, how do you think she got here?"

Cassie looked at him. "Please do not give me that look of disproval. Look I wanted to be a scientist. I had taken the right classes for it in high school even got some collage credit. But when everyone says that you are not smart enough to be a scientist even your own mother tells you that there is no way you can do it, you really start to believe it and it hurts. I lost faith in myself so I gave up on that dream and am still looking for another. When I find it, I will go to school or just jump into the job depending on what it needs." Cassie said and looked at him.
