"No," Costel replied sternly, tensing as she touched him, "my scars and the pain they cause me are punishment for all that I've done. I hate them but I deserve them." He sighed and slumped a little, "Besides, getting rid of them won't make me forget my past." He didn't see her smile as he was glareing at the table in front of him as if it were it's fault all the crap that had happened to him had happened. He barely noticed Toto had left.

Rune laughed as he watched her go through several different thoughts in a short time and then got excited at the end there. He grinned at her and said, "Well I'm sure you'll be a good mother when you find the right brute to have a child with then. But actually Postpartum Depression is really just a chemical imbalance that can always be fixed with the right meds. I actually did some studying on this when a friend of mine started to go through it. So if you do experiance it all you have to do is get the right perscription for it and you'll be fine. Also you have a whole pack to help with it, which is one of the main reasons women get it when they don't have support from family and friends, but you have a whole huge family here, and I know many of them with help you out."

Shiloh sighs softy "No living creature deserves so much pain. Costel... I know that it won't help you forget but it won't be a constant reminder either." She rubbed his shoulder gently. "I've deserved mine as much as you deserved yours then."

Costel pulled his shoulder away from her and stood up, taking his still half full bowl to the sink, "You don't know what I've done. You don't know the pain I've caused innocent people or those that I've failed. If you knew my sins you would hate me just as I hate myself."

Shiloh crossed her arms stubbornly and looked him in the eye "I have no reason to hate you. I don't know all your pains but I can see your hurt and I don't like seeing anyone hurt."

Costel's cold, black eyes, eyes that had seen more than anyone ever should, much less a kid at only sixteen, bored deeply into hers and he practically growled in reply, "You don't know me. I could give you a thousand reasons. Reasons so very many would find perfectly adequate to kill me and be perfectly justified doing it. Just because you don't like seeing someone in pain doesn't mean they don't deserve that pain."

With a light giggle, Kiah reached up and brushed her wavy bright red hair back behind her ear. "You're really well-informed about a whole lot of different topics, Rune. It's impressive." She said, running her fingers through her locks and tearing right through whatever knots attempted to cease her movement. "Hey, I have a question - did you always know you were a Loup Garou? Or.. did you somehow discover it?" Her head tilted to the side as one specific knot failed to snap apart when she tugged, causing her to lean her head in the direction of her hand. She didn't dare take her unusual eyes off of the male beside her, though.

The young man could hear the conversation in the next room as he settled himself down on the floor and crossed his legs. With a sigh, he began to scratch absent-mindedly at his forearm - it was an old habit of his that he was unable to break. Whenever the Omega was overly stressed, he would claw the skin until it was red and raw. Quite unfortunate, but it hid his scars well. Costel and Shiloh were still speaking, although it sounded as though they weren't getting along as well as he'd figured they would. Toto yawned, ignoring the sinking feeling in his stomach.

Shiloh looked into his eyes unafraid she touched his arm smiling sympathetically. "But I can think of one good reason you don't deserve all of this. You deserve all of this." She sighs

Rune shrugged, "Well when you're totally useless physically the best way to be not useless altogether is to learn things. It's not that impressive, I just read when I can and I luckily have a good memory." He watched her playing with her hair and chuckled as she got her fingers stuck in her hair then answered her question, "I knew, those that raised me made sure that I knew."


Amara walked into the living room and plopped down on the couch with a heavy sigh.

"One good reason does not atone for hundreds of bad reasons," Costel retorted then turned away from her. He couldn't stand looking at that sympathetic expression, it was just another reminder of who he'd failed.

Shiloh grabbed his shoulder. "You are strong! You are have morals. You have done wrong yet do nothing to try and amend for it is the only thing I see wrong."

Costel yanked his shoulder out of her grasp and growled, "Nothing I can do can ever atone for what I've done. I do what I can to save lives now, but no matter how many I save it will never make up for the ones I destroyed."
