Eztli, well, now more Sinka than Eztli, roared in pain and anger as she grew and gained an extra set of limbs. The monster, now fully in control looked at Issac and laughed, "You brought her right back to the place of origin, I should probably thank you," she laughed again and ran the long tongue over her muzzle, "but I won't." She bared her teeth and went after him, laughing at his howl. "You're too far away now puppy, should've never come."
Amara chuckled and rolled her eyes as she said, "The best part about living in a pack is food is usually already there." She grinned as she saw plenty of food still left over and a few people still eating.
Cavan yelled an alert to the healer in case they needed her but didn't bother waiting for her to respond as he darted out the door, shifting even before his feet hit the ground. He returned Issac's howl so he would know help was coming, but they'd been gone a while and Eztli ran fast so he knew he wouldn't get there soon but he put on as much speed as he was physically able, pounding at the dirt, desperate to get there before it was too late.

But in the corner, at the cold
hour of dawn, sat the poor girl, with
rosy cheeks and with a smiling mouth,
leaning against the wall--frozen to
death on the last evening of the old
year. Stiff and stark sat the child
there with her matches, of which
one bundle had been burnt.
"She wanted to warm herself,"
people said. No one had the
slightest suspicion of what
beautiful things she had seen;
no one even dreamed of the
splendor in which, with her
grandmother she had entered
on the joys of a new year.
