"Exactly. So just shut up and leave will you?" Skulduggery shot Raven another glare before turning away. "Let's go Valkyrie. I'll get Ghastly to send someone in later, but let's get back to Roarhaven for now." He started walking, but paused, waiting for Valkyrie to move.

Raven Dark
Sighing and rolling her eyes over-dramatically, Raven swung aroind and took a step away. As soon as her foot touched the ground she teleported back to the rooftop where she had been watching Darquesse.

Taking a deep breath to try and clear her head, Valkyrie moved forward. She shut her eyes for a second as they walked and attempted to clear her mind of the conflicting thoughts, but to no avail. It did, however, give her something to focus on.

Skulduggery~
The drive back in the Bently was slightly awkward. Valkyrie made no attempts to start up a conversation, and all of Skulduggery's attempts led to nothing. The silence that floated between them seemed rather uncanny, and a part of Skulduggery expected Darquesse to take over any second, but luckily, she didn't. The Bently pulled up outside of The Sanctuary and Skulduggery turned off the engine.
"We're here," he said to an absent minded Valkyrie. Well, at least she seemed that way. You could never tell completely with Valkyrie.

Valkyrie remained silent for the entire ride back to the Sanctuary, staring out of the window at the slightly overcast sky with a strangely emotionless expression on her face. Skulduggery attempted to make conversation a couple of times but he soon realized that she wasn't going to talk anytime soon and stopped trying.

She felt numb, thoughts rushing through her mind at hyper speed. Because of her, her reflection's corpse hadn't been moved from the house and now she was dead to everyone, so she wouldn't be able to go to her family's funeral because it was technically her own. Because of her, none of her belongings had been removed from the house, so she had nothing but the clothes she were wearing. Because of her, ten Cleavers were dead and innocent people had been killed.

Her face was streaked with the blood of the Cleavers she had ripped apart, her clothes and hair was covered in it and she smelled of death. It was a good thing it was dry, she knew how much Skulduggery loved the Bentley and would probably complain if there was a blood stain on the seat. She looked down at her knees, closing her eyes and clenching her fists tightly. There was one thing she did know for sure; she was going to find the people who murdered her family and kill them, even if she would have to go it alone.

Valkyrie was jolted out of her thoughts as the car stopped moving and Skulduggery spoke. Looking up, with a small silent nod, she opened the car door and stepped out.

The silence between them was uncomfortable, but Skilduggery didn't try to break it. Valkyrie needed the time to think it through, to process all that had happened. Hell, if it had been him in the situation, Valkyrie's little outbreak wouldn't have even seemed bad. Skulduggery shot Valkyrie a worried look. He hoped that she would be alright. It was always hard to have somebody you know die, but to have all your family slaughtered like that....that wasn't pretty. 'Time, give her time,' he thought to himself. It would be alright soon. After a week, she'll be back to normal. Or as normal as anyone with all her family slaughtered would be.

Ghastly~
The sound of the Bently alerted Ghastly of Skulduggery and Valkryie's presence. He'd recognise the sound anywhere. But something was different this time. No laughter or music was heard in the hallway, just the echo of their footsteps as they moved through the corridors. What had happened this time?

The sight that met him wasn't a good one. Valkyrie's whole body practically told him what had happened. Her shoulders were slouched, her head down, and her eyes, her eyes. They were shadowed with grief and sorrow, something that you'd never expect to see in one so young. Ghastly felt his heart break for her. 'Oh dear, come here,' he said, holding out his arms and walking towards her.

She had been staring down at the floor as they'd been walking, but the sounds of Ghastly's voice made her look up. A hug seemed like something she really needed right now, she stopped walking and looked at him, trying to summon a smile from inside herself. She managed a tight lipped half smile, as much as she could manage.
