~The Basics~
Full name:
Joshua Eric Carter.
A blend of names
bestowed on him
by a family he can
barely remember.
From the papers
he owns, he knows
that Joshua was his
biological father's
name, which
technically makes
him a 'Junior'.
However, he
doesn't use the
suffix as he counts
his adoptive parents
as his 'real' parents.
He has no idea
where the 'Eric'
came from, although
it seems to fit in
well with his other
names.
Nickname:
Some people call him
Josh. It's just easier
than using his full
name constantly.
Either way, he
doesn't really mind.
You could call him
Shirley and he
wouldn't care.
'Hero Name'
Josh goes by the
name of 'Snare'
when he is in
'Superhero Mode'.
He's not sure why he
chose it, but it
sounded pretty cool
at the time.
Age:
Josh is seventeen years
old, born on the 21st of
October. It's a pretty
good age to be,
not too young and
not too old. Of
course, being
seventeen means
that he is
finally a senior in
high school,
and can't wait to
leave and get a
real job.
Gender:
Male.
Status:
Josh is a member of
'The Wolf Brothers,
alongside Kaia
and Asher. He is
often referred
to as "The Bad-*ss
One",
a name that amuses
him somewhat.
Power
Josh possesses
extra-ordinary strength,
something he's
pretty proud of. He
can also run
much faster than
the average
human. Of course,
it's hard for Josh
to keep these powers
hidden, so he
doesn't compete
in any sport at
school. It
frustrates him,
as he is a
competitive
kinda guy.
Relationship:
Not at the
moment. Open.

~Digging Deeper~
History:
Joshua's parents never really wanted a child. It's not that they weren't the nurturing kind, but they were just too young. They still felt like children themselves. When Josh's mother found out she was pregnant, it was a huge shock for both her and the father. They were only teenagers, younger than Josh is now. They had no idea how to cope. When their own parents found out, they reacted badly, disowning the pair and throwing them out onto the streets. Both had to leave school, and Joshua's father had to get a job and work long hours to get the struggling family by. With such a small amount of income, the quality of living for them was very poor, something neither of them were used to or comfortable with. Relationships between the pair deteriorated rapidly, escalating from the occasional fall-out to outright screaming arguments. Even when Josh was born, they still fought everyday. It became too much for the young couple to bear. One night, when Josh was still a tiny infant, his father left the home never to return. With no money, no support and now no companion, Josh's mother had very few options left. When her family offered for her to return home without the baby, she begrudgingly agreed. Although she didn't want to give up the baby that she had come to love, she knew that leaving him would make a better life for both of them. She put the infant boy up for adoption, leaving him in the care of the state. She never saw her son again.
For the next few years, Josh was fostered by a pleasant lady, who taught him all of his basic skills. Although he remembers very little of her, he does know that she was a calm and friendly person, who cared for him as if he was her own child. He lived with her until he was around seven or eight, before being adopted permanently by the Grey family. They already had a couple of adopted kids, and at first the boy felt a little overwhelmed. He had never really had to hang around with other kids very much in his old home, as he had been the only child living there. Still, the boy soon became close to his new siblings, even if he rarely showed his affection to them. After a happy, comfortable few years, tragedy struck when Mrs Grey died unexpectedly. Joshua was put back into the system, but wasn't lucky enough to get a foster home this time. He spent most of the following years in a Children's care home, where he discovered his powers. At first, these new-found abilities frightened the boy. He had no idea how to hide them, and was perpetually in fear of accidentally injuring someone. After a few 'incidents', he became somewhat of a recluse. It was only until Asher found him again and they moved back into town that he began to be more social again, although he still prefers to be alone.
Personality
Josh can be a tough character to understand. To most people, he's an arrogant, self-centered jerk. However, to a select few, he has another side to his personality, a much sweeter, romantic side. This side of him isn't seen often, and most people are unaware that it exists. To the few people that see it, it comes as a big surprise. Let's start with the side that most people see.
To the average person, Josh would be viewed as a complete and utter jerk. He quite often provokes people into fights, and furthermore gets in trouble for it with his 'Brothers' as it risks giving away his identity. In recent years, he has managed to keep his violence under control though, only using it when in combat with villains. Of course, he then goes quite overboard, using excessively cruel tactics on anyone he perceives to be guilty. In daily life, Joshua mainly resorts to verbal abuse to get his own way, like taunts, snarky or sarcastic comments and plain intimidation. These can prove to be quite effective in isolating himself completely. Quite a few of his peers prefer to keep away from him. not that he gives a damn. Josh is known to be a loner most of the time, and only really hangs around the other two 'Brothers', and only then if he absolutely has to. His strained relationship with the Leader, Asher, often causes clashes in the group. They are very different people, after all. Although he respects him for his leadership skills, he just finds some of his methods a little.. lacking. However, he is know to be kinder to the Nerd of the group, Kaia, due to her perceived fragility. He admires her intelligence too. He would never admit his awe of the other Brothers though, no matter how blunt he is.
On the 'other side' of his personality, Joshua acts like gentlemen, a young man with romantic ideals and chivalrous behaviour. It's almost a complete difference from his 'outer-shell'. He finds it very hard to let this part of him be shown in daily life, and most people have no idea that it exists. He only reveals it, very slowly, to the people that he trusts completely. When acting as his alter-ego 'Snare', Josh tries to express this side of his personality more to the public.
