Maximum Ride Roleplay

Ren raised an eyebrow and tapped his finger nervously against the ground. "Impressive, I guess. A bit creepy that the school knows...everything about us." He murmured. When Storm asked about the others death, he looked at the teen closely. He must've not been told about due dates at all. Should Ren explain? "You do know that...everything has its end to life, right? And Erasers...they don't live as long as most people." He said slowly, watching Storm closely.

((sorry 'bout that. Was busy.))

Storm shrugged. "Well yea. I know that. But was he in a fight, an accident ,or just got too old?" He really wanted to know. If Storm#1 died in a memorable and noble way, so did he.

"He...his due date came. He died a great guy. Storm saved our sorry butts so many times...and I still didn't trust him until his last few days." Ren couldn't help but to give a gentle, pained smile.

((It's late at night here so there isn't much to do, but when dishes are calling, guess what! The plead is heard.))

Storm liked to hear that he faught and guarded the flock with his life till the day he died. But what was Ren talking about? A due date? He gave Ren a confused look, "His what? What are you taking about?" Because he had never been told he just assumed everyone died with old age and health. Not a defined day locked in your DNA.

(Hah, I'm just being lazy at home and doing nothing productive. Weeeeee )

Ren swallowed hard, not wanting to explain this. "Erasers have a...let's say, timer, in their DNA code. And those timers are locked on a certain day. The white coats choose the day you die. It's cruel and sick, and they do it so you guys don't get old and are useless to them. They want healthy erasers. So, about two weeks from the day-" he gently tapped on the back of Storms neck, "-it'll show up there, like a barcode. And...that's how Storm died. He didn't tell anybody but me."

Storm's eyes widened greatly as Ren explained. and cold shivers ran through his body as Ren touched the back of his neck. "Wow. didn't see that coming..." Storm pondered on the thought for a few moments. He rubbed the back of his neck. He didn't like the thought of a 'due date' on the back of his neck. "Why didn't he tell anyone else?"

((Bleh.... so bored at home! just texting and roll-playing. whatever. Unproductiveness for the win!))

Ren gave a sigh and sat up, hugging his stomach. "He didn't want them to worry. Plus saying goodbye it hard. I would've wanted the same thing." He looked over at Storm, his soft green gaze scanning over the other. "I wouldn't be able to stand it if you died too. There must be some way to fix it. Losing you wouldnt effect Jinx very much, but you've grown on me. Stupid dog." He murmured, a smile playing on his lips.

"I hope we can fix it too." Storm wondered if the bird-kids had them too. He definitely needed to move his mind away from the current conversation. "We came here for food right? Well lets get some."

(Sorry I poofed, playing assassins creed)

Ren's belly growled on cue. "Right, right." He was about to stretch his wings, then remembered they where tucked in his jacket. He gave a gentle huff and braced an arm up against the ground, pushing himself to his tired feet.

Storm stood up after him. He double checked to make sure none of Ren's feathers were sticking out the bottom. Once satisfied he turned his attention back to the city. "Ready when you are." he said then proceeded towards the busy streets.
