"All creatures seem to have the same flaw in common, then-- the shallowness which some of the more undesirable members possess." Tempest's voice was soft; resigned, "There's always going to be someone who wants you for your title, your scales, your abilities... and there's always going to be others who hate who you are because it's not what they expected. They hold a kernel of fear over who you are-- and, to them, you're not supposed to be scary. You're supposed to be a white knight, running in to save every little girl from the monsters in her closet, and every little boy from the boogeyman under his bed. You're supposed to be the shining example of perfection parents can prattle on and on about to their children, to chase the nightmares away. But... you're not, and that's fine. Perfect, even. Because then at least you have the guts to be yourself, rather than what society expects you to be."
Quickening his pace, Tempest hesitated before continuing, "We're not too different, you and I. The other drakes... They never liked how I grew in length rather than girth, becoming long and thin rather than short and heavy. They didn't like how I took after my mother instead of my father. They didn't like... Well, they didn't like how I looked. And when I didn't share their same ambition, they didn't like how I act. But that's fine. Because I'm still me, and you're still you... and that works. The pieces fit, the cogs turn, the batter bakes... However you want to put it, it doesn't change the fact that we're sentient, and it's okay if we didn't grow into society's mould."
((...How did that turn into my long-awaited rant against society and conformity? o.o))
((Um... My character, Tempest, was introduced to Cadyn, Eden, and Starfish. Then he and Cadyn went hunting, and are now headed to the palace. And that sums up everything I've done since I joined. XD))
