Cupcake mewed and purred and pressed his head against Tim's hand, happily.

"We're at Amelia's house, just hanging out. No need to worry about us, we're both very okay and safe." He lied, now understanding why Matthew didn't want Andrei to get into all of this.

"You're a strange cat, you know that?" Tim sighed, picking Cupcake up and placing him on the counter.

"Uncle Mattie's been gone for a while! I'm all alone!" Dakota whined.

Andrei smiled when Dakota called Matthew "Uncle". "Don't worry. We're just finishing up and we'll try to be there as fast as we can."

"How long exactly?" Dakota asked.

Cupcake meowed and waved his tail behind him. He sat on the counter and watched Tim.

Matthew frowned. He didn't want Dakota to have false hope but... It might keep her away and safe.

"I-I can't be sure." Romania replied, hoping that she didn't hear the faulter in his voice. "Like I said, we'll try and get there as fast as we can." He lowered his voice so that Tim and Felecia hopefully couldn't hear him.

Tim sighed and looked back in the fridge. "Of course. Nothing looks good." He closed the door and looked back at Cupcake. "Come on, we'll tell Oliver that I'm going shopping." He looked at Felecia. "Anything you want me to pick up for you?"

Dakota heard the falter. Even though she was talking on a phone she narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "I'm coming over." She said.

"No, wait. That's not a good idea. Trust me, we're okay. I'm a..vampire." It pained himself to say it, but maybe it would help her believe that they would be safe. They didn't know each other well, so maybe she'd think he was telling the truth. "Matthew and I are fine."
