Rukia blinked a few times "umm..." she started to say, but she was kind of lost for words.

Renji grinned charmingly. "Tongue-tied? I know I am devilishly handsome, but you mustn't let that distract you." His eyes caught hers and their depths were warm.

Rukia blushed slightly "well" she mumbled and looked back to the ground.

"I'm joking." Renji chuckled. "Though it would be a nice surprise if you thought I was devilishly handsome." He gave her a cheeky smile and then grew serious. "You know you can talk to me about anything."

Rukia looked backup at Renji, her blush had faded "its really nothing" she lied and beamed.

Renji sighed and his hope that she might finally admit how she felt evaporated. He smiled warmly, and tried to reign the sadness in his eyes. "Alright then." He said cheerfully.

Rukia sighed sadly. She tried to tell him but couldn't get out the words.

"Well, if you do need to talk, I am here." He said, putting extra meaning behind the words, but subtly. Renji considered briefly telling Rukia how he felt, but the familiar doubt clenched his heart and ge couldn't bring himself to say it.

Rukia smiled "Thanks Renji" she said and sighed again. Rukia looked back ahead of her to see how far they were off.

Orihime looked from Renji to Rukia, a slight evil grin passed her lips, she nudged into Rukia making her fall towards Renji. "Opps sorry" she said sweetly.

Renji caught Rukia and held her close, not willing to let her go immediately. He smiled slightly as he looked down at her.
