Lestrade just stood there with his arms around her, feeling useless. He decided to stay put because Roger needed him and there wasn't anything else he could do.

[Kanaria]

Roger bit her lip. "C-could you sing to me?" She asked quietly.

[EO+RS]

Lestrade nodded, then began to sing the first song that popped into his head. "Home is behind... the world ahead... and there are many paths to tread..."

[Kanaria]

Roger leaned against him, letting the sound of his voice relax her. She slowly calmed down, and soon stopped crying.

[EO+RS]

"Through shadow... to the edge of night... until the stars are all alight.... Mist and shadow... cloud and shade... all shall fade... all shall..." Lestrade continued to sing, wondering why he had chosen such a sad song. He felt like an idiot. "...fade." He stopped and focused on holding Roger tightly.

[Kanaria]

Roger had fallen asleep against him, being so relaxed by his singing. It may have been a sad song, but it had been the right one.

[EO+RS]

Lestrade looked down, then gently picked her up and began to carry her to their room, smiling a little bit. At least she could get some rest.

[Kanaria]

Roger curled up in Lestrade's arms, looking peaceful. Her tears, though stopped still stained her face.

[EO+RS]

Lestrade laid Roger on the bed gently, then sat on a chair beside the bed with a quiet sigh. He watched her, smiling, glad that somebody could get some rest around here.

[Kanaria]

Roger blinked her eyes open as the feeling of Lestrade's arms dispersed. "Hey..." She said sleepily, "Why are you over there?"
