"Oh," I said, not very much enlightened. "I'm from Gondor. There aren't any hobbits there, nor any tales of hobbits." I looked at her with some interest, seeing how her features seemed elvish but were not quite the same. "And it doesn't matter to me if you're half hobbit," I told her, answering her earlier question. I still wasn't exactly sure what a hobbit was, but Amira's parents were Amira's parents, and none of my business.
"Are you going to be at the council?" I asked, changing the subject.

I fidgeted a little, impatient. Would the council ever start? It seemed like it wouldn't, and not very many people were even there yet.
I picked up a small round pebble from the ground and began rolling it around in my hands to occupy myself.
