The Light

Summer blinked in the growing light. She looked around, amazed that everything was bright again, as if the period of darkness had never happened. Her gaze landed on the boy, and she sucked in a breath. The darkness was flowing back into him! She eyed him, wary now. "What's going on," she asked, "and why-- how are you controlling this?" she asked him. When he walked away, she ran in front of him, determined to get an answer. "Tell me!"

While her younger sister's ate their breakfast, Lauren played around with her necklace. She couldn't ever tell them how she got it. It was a beam of light that attacked her last night, then it suddenly transformed. She could hardly explain it herself. She tucked it under her low cut long sleeve shirt as she heard plates clinking in the other room. She then looked out of the window. It sure was busy out there today.
Lauren hugged her youngest sister as she passed her. She then looked back outside before stepping out of the door. They were still there, people. The breeze chilled her as she walked by, then it all went dark. "H-hello? Who turned off the lights?" She tried to feel her way, bumping into someone's shoulder. The light turned back on and it revealed a light brown haired girl wearing a sweater and jeans.

She ran after him. "Wait a second. How did you do that?" she asked, then looked at his necklace again. And again she got the feeling that her necklace was somehow like his. "Where did you get that?" she asked quietly, gesturing at his necklace and looking him in the eyes.

[Kites]

Hawk looked at her, and shook his head sadly, 'I can't explain, I don't even know myself. I got angry, and then it went dark. I concentrated on making it light again, and it did.' He absentmindedly felt his necklace. He looked at the other girl, 'Its a...difficult story, you won't believe me'.

Brenda sighed, beginning to be able to see. Yes! she thought, overjoyed to see her hand in front of her face. When the boy turned to go, she stared at the ground. This was all so confusing, how had he made everything dark? Something din't add up. But the world was always strange, that's what she loved about it. But now she looked at the bench, at the people, and around. She felt her shirt nervously, the pendant calming her nerves.

A girl bumped aginst her and she let out a quick gasp before breathed softly again. I'm not really sure." she murmured. She was probably just as confused as she was.

"Did a beam of light hit you? Because that happened to me. It can't get any weirder than that," she said, matter- of- factly.

Hawk blinked, and shook his head. 'Sort of, it all went dark, like a beam of black light'.

She gasped as she heard Gemma ask about a light. "It happened to me...I just thought it was lightning or something, even if it was a normal night..." She felt the necklace around her neck. "The light turned to this necklace somehow though..." She muttered, playing with the little charm on the front.

"Well then. For me it was like a major gust of wind. And if your beam was dark and you can control darkness, that must mean I control wind and you," she turned to Lauren, "probably control lightning. What a weird bunch," she said, frowning, but her eyes were excited.
