The Light

Brenda didn't reply, she just ducked to the side. There was something about him that was sending a chill down her spin. But why would there? She was probably just imagining things, though she could keep herself to watch him. Instead, she spun towards the man, ready for what was coming.

He walked towards the man, his eyes as black as his soul. The man sneered at him. As if something clicked, Hawk threw the orb at him. The man was ready, but wasn't expecting such an explosion. He was thrown to one side and slammed against the wall. He was knocked out, but Hawk, unable to control the dark emotions, formed another orb.

Brenda smiled, it looked like he would be out for some time. "Thanks Hawk." she said, finally turning her eyes toward him. At first she was grateful but after looking at th orb, she just knew something was wrong. "Hawk, it's okay. Just stop, he's unconsious. " She stood up, her back still against the wall. With slow steps, she walked closer, seeing the emptiness in his eyes.

Hawk snarled and stood over the man, orb floating. Years of hate bubbling to the top.

Kay, being as stubborn as she was, ran after Hawk. When she finally found him and Brenda, she gasped. "Hawk!" she cried, somehow understanding something was terribley wrong. Kay sprinted towards him with caution. She looked at Brenda with a questioning look, wanting to know what had happened.

Kat walked out of the restaurant, Shadow at her side. "I can't believe not one place has a decent telephone we could use. They're all taken up, with a twenty person line behind it. Ugh!" she groaned to Shadow, who only looked up. "I bet if I went in there and acted like I had rabies, they would all run and you could use the phone then," Shadow said thoughtfully. Kat also thought about this idea. "Umm... let's not. I don't think people would ever come back if they found out a rabied dog was on the loose. And you'd have animal control on your tail end. You wouldn't be able to shake them off. So... no," she answered,"But let's go find Kay and Hawk. They may need us."

Brenda looked over at Kay, trying to sum up the story in as few words as possible. "He knocked out this guy that was following me, so why is he trying to hurt him even more?" she said, afraid to move any closer to Hawk. After seeing his empty eyes, it didn't feel like it was even him.

NO! His eyes slowly returned to normal. Panting heavily, he leaned against the brick wall, sliding down it into a crumpled heap. 'I-can't control-too much' he gasped, clutching his head. It seemed like the more he used his power the worse these 'reactions' became. An idea popped into his head, maybe during the last light shower, there was another dark one like him. Maybe the place developed a cure...it was unlikely but he clutched onto this idea.

Brenda kneeled down beside him, unable to figure out what he was talking about. She placed her palm against the ground, instantly feeling a close by water source. It was a drinking fountain not far, so she slowly moved it toward them. Then it arrived, she formed it into a sort of drinking cup. "Here, have some water." she murmured, pushing the cup into his hands.

"good....im glad your fine..." he looked down, "i dont know how were going to bust out....my cell isnt flammible.."

"Darn." Summer cracked her knuckles as she scanned the room. Everything looks so strong, she mused. What can I do? Heal the wall?

Kalona suddenly got an idea.....he created a fire orb, and pushed it under his cell door, sending it into her room, they hadnt prepared hers to be inflammable....."summer, dont worry the fire ball is mine, i wont hurt you....im just testing you room too." he pushed the orb against a wall, furthest away from her, and felt a bit of give....her walls were flammable.......
