((Me either so I mostly give my food to my friends but I get some food from them on a different day so it's kind of like trading. P.S. I'll start to get things moving..))

Brenda leaned back against the huge oak, fingering the necklace that fell from the sky. She wasn't usually curious and know to ask questions but she had wondered what had happened over and over again in her mind. Because normally jewelry didn't fall and didn't latch on to her. Even though she loved it, she felt like it didn't belong to her. Still she watched the sky, deep in thought.

Gemma rolled and fell out of bed, falling on her face. " What the ... ow!" She got up, slowly, making sure she was alright. "What a great way to start the day ..." As she was getting up, she felt the necklace around her neck. How she got it really was something. She came home last night, somewhat freaked out and went to bed, thinking it was just her imagination ... or something. "Seriously, how many people get hit by beams of light? I must be going insane." But obviously, it was for real. Shaking her head, she checked the alarm clock. It was early, but she didn't feel like going back to bed, so she washed and got dressed.

When she opened the fridge, she frowned. There was nothing edible in it, and she would have to do some shopping -- which she hated doing. Muttering curses under her breath, she grabbed her wallet and started walking towards the nearest store that was open 24 hours a day. On her way, she saw a girl leaning against a tree. Paying no attention to her, she reached for her necklace to make sure it was still there. When she thought about what she did, she got angry at herself, but because it seemed to be instinctive, she let it be and continued twirling it with her fingers.

Hawk kept to the shadows of an alleyway. In his view was a park with a girl leaning against a tree. He leaned against the brick wall, stroking the black stone set into the necklace around his neck

((It's alright. Its something. ))

Brenda yawned, tucking the necklace back under shirt. A girl walked by her, probably heading for a store. It looked like she was playing with something but it wasn't her bussiness so she pushed off from the tree and sat down on the bench. Even with her sweater and jeans she was stil freezing. Ever since that night she had been cold but it was most likely just allergies. A bird flew overhead and she watched it go until it wss long gone. She really didn't want tog go home to her dad but it was getting boring out alone.

Hawk thought about his family, and he frowned. He bared his teeth angrily, and then, suddenly, it was dark. Hawk looked around, scared, 'Hello?' he cried out, feeling his way out of the alley with his hands stretched out

Summer stretched in the sunlight, yawning. This was her second week of being free, and she loved it. The sensation of waking when she chose, eating when she was hungry, and not having to worry about anything but herself. Some people might think it selfish, but after 5 years... it felt marvelous. She threw back her blankets, and carefully stood up, holding on to the tree's broad trunk. She was up 25 feet in the air; falling was not on her to-do list. She grabbed some clothes from her backpack and shimmied/jumped down the tree's trunk. I've got to get some sort of system going here. Maybe a rope that I can haul up if someone comes by? she pondered, liking her idea. I know I'll have to move along, but for now... this is fine. She ran to the public bathroom in the park, and changed from her pajamas to regular everyday clothes. Meandering back to her tree, she saw a couple of other teens hanging around. Strange, she thought. Not many would be up this early. She shrugged. None of my business, and if they start snooping, I'll show them something. She smiled slightly. Despite her slight frame, she was wiry and tough from dodging hits from her father. Not that he ever hit her, no; she'd learned long ago to get out of his way.

She touched the necklace at her throat, and felt its tiny branches of sapphire leaves. I wonder what's up with that beam of light that broke through the tree's branches? It has some thick foliage... she thought, and then tripped. She sprawled face-first towards the sidewalk, and put out her hands to break her fall. Craning her head around she looked for the stone or other impediment that would have caused her to fall like that. All that she saw was a girl on a bench. I must've tripped over my feet or something, and smiled ruefully at the girl. "Sorry 'bout that. I don't know what made me trip; I was walking along, and 'wham' down I go. Did you see anything?" she asked apologetically, knowing that the girl must think her a total klutz, but before she knew it, the world went black.

((This sometimes happens xD My intro post is usually much longer than what I normally post.))

Brenda smiled down at the girl and held out her hand to help her up. "It's alright. I'v done a lot worse than that. I"m Brenda. What's your name?" she said her voice open and friendly. It wasn't until it began to get a bit dark that she almost screamed. But she calmed down and tried to not to squeeze the girl's hand as she tried to see. But she heard a male voice and glanced around nervously. "Who's there?" she asked.
