Zach had his jaws locked around the hunter's neck who pleaded for mercy. The lion felt for him, he really did. If it were not embedded in the codes of his DNA, he probably wouldn't have killed the man. His jaws snapped down forcefully, a level of ruthlessness to the action. When the Guardian lifted his head at last, the human was no longer moving. Zach stepped away in disgust. There was a small cut under his left eye and a few more along his sides. Nothing was bad enough to cause him any crippling discomfort, though.

The only remaining hunter yelped as he clung to the ground for dear life. "Please! Stop this!" he pleaded desperately, having a quick change in character. "You don't have to kill me! I will leave you alone, I promise!" he cried out, his voice rushed and fearful. His hazel eyes reflected the fear. He didn't want to die. Not yet.

Maggie frowned,sighing.Ever so slowly did the shaking stop,but the ground infront of him shot up in sharp edges."He seems fun to mess with.."She said softly.

The hunter screamed and crawled backwards, desperate to get away from the sharp rocks. When he backed into something rigid and... furry... he looked up at a snarling lion. Another scream of terror escaped his throat and he was back to the spikes. Death by lion or death by unnatural earth spikes. It was a hard choice. Of course, being chewed to bits didn't seem as pleasant as being impaled. Come to think of it, neither of them sounded pleasant to him.
Zach took a step forward, a growl rumbled in his chest and his ears fell back against his head, hidden among his large mane. When he realized that Maggie was holding back, his form rippled into that of a brown haired human. He wiped the blood off of his cheek using the back of his hand and motioned towards the hunter with his free hand. "Are you going to kill him, or need I do the deed?"

Maggie rolled her eyes,pressing the earth forward,it cracked,thinning a bit.She bit her lip,motionig for the ground under the hunter to spike up.Maggie closed her eyes,wincing.

Zach didn't so much as flinch when the hunter yelled out. "N...no!" The man tried getting to his feet but was much too late. The death wasn't instant, it took a few moments to pass of him screaming out in agonizing pain, begging for mercy before his voice fell silent and his body slumped.
"Well he's rather dramatic." Zach huffed with an indifferent appearance. Silently, he was mourning for the hunter. This war had brought so many pointless deaths, so many lives could've been saved if only... no, now wasn't the time to get caught up in the past. "Sad, really, he was young. Most are." he narrated, returning to the limp body of the last hunter he had battled with. He dragged him by his arms into the cover of the trees. It was impossible to consider that the fight had not been seen. Word would travel fast, but the WHO acted faster. Authorities would be dismissed in order to protect their research, representatives would be sent out to clear up the conspiracies. It was all a very top secret ordeal.

Maggie poked her head out,sighing."Thanks.."She muttered softly,biting her lip.She set the ground and trees back to normal and sat down.

"For?" Zach sang his simple question. None of this seemed to bother him. Truthfully, it did take a toll on him, but he refused to show it. He picked up the youngest of the hunters and slung him over his shoulder, making a face of disgust when the human's blood soaked his shoulder. With this hunter, he dumped the corpse on top of the first one among the nearby trees. The hunters would know where to find them. The very first hunter that Zach had left alive was nowhere in sight. He had very clearly made a break for it once the lion abandoned him.

Maggie tossed a large rock at Zachs face,shaking her head."Not the time."She said,crossing her arms over her legs.

Zach leaned back and swore sharply as the rock made contact with his forehead. "That was an act of love. I understand, you just don't know how to express it." he pressed his hand to the new wound on his head that streamed blood. He cringed, that was some rock. He gave Maggie large sad eyes, keeping his hand to his face and the growing bump finding it's home on his hairline.

Maggie smiled,rolling her eyes."Sad eyes won't make me feel any guilty.And love?That's something I won't ever trust."She said,snorting.
