The long board's decorative bright red flames seemed to grow hotter under her arm, as to remember her who she was. "Whoopsiedaisy" she repeated El's expression, but this time without sarcasm. "This board was a gift from my dad." She planted it on the sand, and it stood there. The decorative flames seemed to flicker against the black board's background. "Like it?"
((Sorry, I've been trying to catch up on life. You would not
believe how much homework can accumulate from one day of water fights with friends... anywho...))
El whistled, long and low. "That is one heck of a board. And you say this is from your dad?" she asked, slowly pacing around the surf board, examining it from all sides with a sharp eye. Turning to Bella, she said, "Dad... well, the vicar and I used to go sit by the ocean when we lived in San Diego; we'd sit there and watch all the surfers ride the waves and fall off. More of the latter, but who cares. They looked so light and free, just standing there, riding the waves." She smiled softly. "I wonder who the heck they are! I've wondered my whole life, and I guess that when I came here I thought that they might... you know, take notice. Monsters certainly have." Shaking her head at the memories, she glanced at Bella. "Sorry. I'll get off the topic now." she said ruefully. "D'you want to go see the different people around the camp? I heard some newbies enter in. Or we could go tease some Aphros. That's always fun."
