Jett scowled up at Kozusa's foot. "Ptah! Years of combat? Like I ------ care. I can still try and whoop your butt."
Kiku snickered a bit.

Ran paused. "A...Alecto? Do you know what I'm thinking about?!"

"No. Not your thoughts. I saw Liam-san earlier, when no one was watching me. And I saw the look on your face while you were looking at Lazzie. It was obvious to me you were debating over whether to tell her the truth or not." the black haired boy replied, his oddly intelligent gaze meeting Ran's evenly.

Kouzusa responded by digging his knee harder into Jett's back. "I don't like brats like you. Reminds me of Lelouch when I first me him. He was a brat back then, too."

Ran's face fell into a shadowed pit. "Yeah...you got that one on the head, Alecto."

"Will you two please stop it!?" Jack squeaked. "We don't need more injuries!"
Jett snapped out his non-broken wing and smacked Kozusa on the cheek with it.

Kouzusa's head snapped back, and he let out a low growl as he brought it back down. "Don't f--- with me, brat! I could kill you right now, and I wouldn't feel the sligtest amount of remorse!" he snarled.

Alecto patted Ran's cheeks with his hands. "Try not to worry too much. Daddy said worry doesn't help anything. But hope keeps you going."

Kiku laughed as if it was a game, clutching her broken arm. She watched as Jack tried to barrel into things with his non-existent physical skills.

There had been no fewer than five assassination attempts on Roy Mustang since he ascended to power. Hawkeye nailed two. Havoc took one out—and Sebastian had pinned three others through the heart without breaking sweat. The night Dimitri and Her Nibs from the North met with Roy, Sebastian flicked a steak knife off the table and pinned a fly to the wall—and the Drachman Tsar nearly wet himself. Negotiations went a damn sight smoother after that.))

"I'm not about to be bested by a dirty-mouthed, snot-nosed brat who doesn't know his place!" Kouzusa yelled, twisting Jett's arm slowly in the wrong direction.

"Yes. I know. But it'll hurt more if you give up, Ran-okaasama." Alecto murmured.

Jett clenched his teeth hard.
"WHOA! Suza please stop!" Jack tried to pry him off Jett. He saw a pair of brown eyes standing in the doorway. They stared up at Kozusa rather wide and surprised.

"I...I'm not giving up. I just want to help."

"I don't like little brat b------'s like him!" Kouzusa snarled, not noticing the pair of eyes staring at him from the doorway.

"I know, Mommy Ran. But sometimes, the best thing you can do to help is wait patiently and pray. Trust in Raikou and Sebastian, and Akuji-san. This is enough."

"S...Suzaku!?" The boy standing in the doorway cried out in surprise. Fredric stood there, clutching his tail in his hands.
