He knew thats what he had to do. if she didnt love him or at least love his as a friend or brother then hes gone, he needs a friend who will love him and not complain about someone else. Emma looked up at Ed, "I love Carl but I don't want to hurt him, or get to close to him," she cried, "I have cancer, I don't want to tell him that. He will treat me diffrently, and I know he says he loves me but he also thinks I'm a jerk." She sniffled.

Ed looked at her hands. "Emma, of course he loves you. Who wouldn't I'm surprised you have lived as long as you have now."

Emma cried more, "Exactly what if I die soon, I don't want Carl to go threw that."

Ed rolled his eyes, "What ever who needs him?" he tried to make her feel better.

Emma looked up angerly at him, "I need him!" she wipped away her tears. "He is the only friend I've ever allowed my self to have just incase I died or worse he died."
