At one point she nearly died from not only his abuse but also from the other Death Eaters including Voldemort himself. Afraid and alone, she escaped to the Potter house where James and Lily Potter lived. Sirius Black was there aswell and knew right away what to do. He took her to Dumbledore who came up with a plan. They would choose six secret keepers and choose a house for her to stay in until Regulus had died and Voldemort was gone. Men were chosen because men could hold out under torture longer than women could. The six men that were chosen were James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Arthur Weasley, Frank Longbottom, and of course Albus Dumbledore. The house that was chosen was the home of Andromeda Tonks who is the Sister of Bellatrix Lestrange and Narcissa Malfoy which were Sirius' and Regulus' cousins. She lived there for many years until Regulus' death and the defeat of Voldemort. Being an excellent potions masters who surpassed even Severus Snape according to Horus Slughorn, tried out for the Potions Master position at Hogwarts but was instead placed as the substitute teacher under Severus Snape. However, she was given the opportunity to teach the students how to become an Animagus. Her own Animagus form is the form of a blood bay Arabian mare with emerald green eyes. However, there was something only the six secret keepers knew about her. She was a werewolf and not the kind Remus Lupin was. She was a Shifter werewolf that could shift into her wolf form at any time she wanted and still have her human mind so that she could control the wolf. No one else knows not even the Death Eaters because she showed no one else her wolf form.
