Please note that this is a remake of my previous RP that died off. You were either born here or you just recently moved here, to the small town of Iron Pass in the mountains of Virginia. The population is small and the entire town only has 2 stoplights. There's no Wal-Mart or McDonald's. There's one elementary, one middle, and one high school and almost everyone knows each other. There's a park, a few random businesses, a library and a few small, non-chain restaurants and stores.

One day, a group of friends decide to head out to look at the abandoned mines. Everyone in the town knows that they are off limits and very unsafe. Everyone also know of the 'legends' of the mines. Workers being dragged off by spiders 4 feet tall.... sprites, glowing snakes, the like. Well, anyway, they all knew they weren't supposed to be there. Plus, there are many signs and boards barring entry. There was an earthquake and the mine collapsed, burying the friends deep underground. The only way out is an entrance on the other side of the mountain. On top it would take about a day of walking. Underground... it may take a week to navigate the abandoned, twisting tunnels of the mines. They have no food or water and there are... odd things beneath the surface. Creatures that they've never seen.

After a while, they find some odd plants growing. With no other source of food, they decide to eat it. Strange things happen. They all lose something, but gain an odd power in return.

Will they survive?

~They DO NOT start out with ANY power at all.
~The creatures in the mines are NPCs so you can just make them up and RP them a little as we go along. They can be anything smaller than 5 feet tall.
~The mines themselves are realistic. There are some old tracks and carts, but almost all the oil lamps have burned out. It's pitch black except for an eerie glow from some type of odd rocks here and there.
~The mines are connected to some untouched caves, which can either be small and blank or large and wondrous, with pools of water and gems of all sorts. However, NOT TOO MANY OF THESE SEEING AS HOW THIS IS A PARTIAL SURVIVAL RP. We don't want it too easy, do we?

She can shift into a dragon-eyrie and control dark fire. When she shifts, she can either be fully human, fully creature, or a human with different animalistic features, like wings and a tail.
A dragon-eyrie is a mixture of an eyrie, the neopet, and the movie version of Saphira. Her body is that of an eyrie without the mane, 2 feet at the shoulders, and she has paws with silver claws and a silver beak lined with teeth. Her wings, 8 feet across, and tail, 3 feet long, are that of Saphira. Her whole body is covered in purple scales with silver, star-like speckles and her eyes are bright blue in this form.

She has a mixture of everything in her lineage, but she was born in America. She is mainly Swiss and Native American.

She can speak English, Latin, and Japanese.
Looks:
Very much like the picture above. She stands at about 5'2" and weighs approximately 105 pounds. Overall, she is quite small and skinny for her age. She isn't very curvy, but isn't that flat either. Her arms aren't the biggest, but her legs are almost pure muscle. Her stomach is flat and strong, all from being outside almost her entire life as a child. She is also tan, but not to the point of being brown. Her hair is short and shaggy and white, often hanging in her eyes like a guy's style. Her bangs cover her right eye most of the time. Her eyes are very unique from both her original color and an accident she had. Her left eye is a very bright blue color, with a ring of grayish green around the center and green flecks throughout. Her right eye, due to an accident, is a very faint bluish-gray that almost seems white in the center. She has no piercings, but many scars and tattoos. There are silver angel wings, one on either side of her left ankle. She also has a barbed wire heart on her upper left arm that says 'Edward' in cursive letters and a purple flame on the back of her right hand. On her left hand is a purple Ouroboros tattoo. There's a large, jagged white scar running from her left temple to her right collar bone, along with a myriad of other smaller scars over her entire body. Her normal outfit tends to be jean capris and t-shirts, either fitted or small guy shirts. She also wears black sneakers or goes barefoot most of the time. She always has a black leather wristband on her left wrist and a silver chain choker necklace on her neck. Also, due to her eye, she always wears a black eyepatch over her right eye.



History:
Danika's history is as dark as her personality. At first, it seemed all happy and cheery. She lived with her mother, father and older brother (by 2 years) in a nice house near the woods in Montana. She grew up outside with her brother and became one with nature early on. She can identify most kinds of plants in animals and can survive easily in the woods.

When she reached the age of 8, her brother was almost killed. One winter they were playing on a frozen lake. He said he didn't want to, but Danika convinced him with a little whining. Well, they fell through the ice. Her brother, Edward, managed to save her, but it severely hurt him. Once their parents rescued them, they were rushed to the hospital. Edward took the blame. He ended up bed-ridden with hypothermia and pneumonia and fell into a coma. He died a few weeks later. Danika only had slight hypothermia. She still blames herself for this incident.

When she was 9, barely a year after her brother's death, there was another tragedy. A horrid house fire broke out in the middle of the night. Danika managed to escape with her life, but barely. She got most of her big scars from debris and a large piece of brick caused her left eye to go fuzzy. The color is different and she can't see out of it well. Once she was out, she discovered her parents were dead. She was immediately shipped off to live with her Aunt Megan Beatty in California. Her little home in Montana was gone.

In California she was sent to a private school where she learned Latin, among other things. She didn't fit, so her aunt decided to move to her mother's home in Japan. While in Japan, Danika learned the language fluently, as well as started an anime addiction. Whenever she spoke out or rebelled against her aunt, she would be abused or beaten, adding to her menagerie of scars. Her aunt's mother died when Danika was 16, so her aunt moved them back to the States to live with a guy she met named Harold Jackson. He is also abusive towards Danika, so she is amost never home. He lives in Iron Pass so that is how she just recently moved here. Her aunt is nice enough to let her keep music and art in her life.

Surface absorption- He can, just by touching a surface, 'absorb' its qualities. By absorbing, he can change his forearms and calves to whatever material he touches- water, stone, etc. Everything but air. And if it's not a solid, he can still somehow use it as if it were if he so chooses.
Finger writing- Just by concentrating, he can draw things on any surface or in the air. It appears as an odd, highlighterish, paint-like writing. He can draw or write and he can also erase it. It fades over time.

He's originally from Japan, but his mother was American and his father was part Japanese, part English (like, from England).

Looks:
Len stands at about 5'5" and weighs about 140 pounds. He is extremely skinny and looks brittle, though he's not. His skin is moderately tan. His hair is blonde and shaggy, almost golden in appearance. He keeps it loose around his head, often using it to mesmerize girls with it (or so his manager said). His eyes are a very delicate shade of teal, the perfect mixture and shade of blue and green. He has no tattoos, but he does have multiple scars on his body, the most prominent being a long line over his heart. His fingers are long and skinny, perfect for playing the piano. He has a charming smile with perfectly straight teeth and his proportions are excellent. He does have a decent amount of muscle, but it's not to where he's buff. He tends to wear dress-shirts, yellow or white, unbuttoned a few buttons, with black jeans and yellow converse. He also always has headphones on his neck, even if he doesn't have his iPod. Often times he doesn't.



History:
Most of his life, Len has lived in Japan. However, by some odd fluke, his voice has no trace of a Japanese accent. Because his father was English, he has a slight British accent, however (imagine a British Tamaki Suoh). He was born in Japan and lived in the heart of Tokyo for his duration there. As a young child, his parents involved him in many things until they found his forte- acting and singing, though it was in Japanese of course. Since he was 4, he has been involved with different industries and has lived a very pampered life. He was never denied anything, be it a private jet, a girl, or a dog. When he reached the age of 14, he became a pop-idol. The daughter of his father's friend joined him and together, and they dominated the charts in Japan for 2 years.

When he reached the age of 16, however, he suddenly let out his feelings about his life- his true feelings. While on stage he 'loved it', he really wanted to be a normal child. Because of that, his parents moved to the US. To try and avoid 'fangirls', they moved to Iron pass, where they've been living for over a year now.

Nika's first power is Energy Outlet. She's like a battery - giving off energy to whatever living thing is in contact with her bare skin. The energy can speed up healing process by 3 percent and kill viruses (though she doesn't know that). The only problem is that she can't turn it off. Because of that, she avoids physical contact with any and all living things, even plants and animals.
Her second ability is metal manipulation. She can take any type of metal and mold it into whatever it is she't trying to mold it into. A plus side is being able to conduct energy into the metal. A minus is that it drains her faster when when giving it to a living thing. A good weapon, but she can only remain on her feet for so long.

Languages Spoken:
English and Russian. Her mother taught her Russian, and she speaks it perfectly. Her English is a bit accented, but it's also unnoticeable.
Looks:
Nika stands at 5'6 and weighs about 157 lbs. She has a very pale skin complexion, and bright, startling pale blue eyes. She has a tattoo of a blue bird on her right shoulder, though people normally don't notice it, as it's almost always covered by her clothing. Her hair is black, thick, straight, and very long, hanging down to her butt. In certain lighting, her hair looks midnight blue.
Nika's clothing mainly consists of slightly thick, dark blue dresses (as in the picture) with long sleeves. She usually wears a (blue) tank top underneath, along with a pair of jeans. Her shoe style is simple; a pair of leather boots dyed super dark blue, that lace all the way up. Along with all that, a pair of dark blue gloves and a large scarf. The scarf was made of her old blanket, and means a lot to her.

As you can easily tell, she's a fan of blue.



History:
Nika's history is kinda interesting, but it isn't the biggest story out there. Her parents met up in Russia, her father being English and mother being Russian. She was born and raised two years after, and stayed in Russia until she was three. Three months after her third birthday, her father found that a large amount of property was left for him by an old family friend who had died only a week before - a huge, old house and a three acre wood. They moved immediately, as they were struggling where the currently lived.
Once they arrived, Nika quickly adjusted. She went to school at age 6 knowing most of the English language, but has always been treated as the odd one out. She was used to the seclusion, though, as it had been that way most of her life.
When she was nine, Nika became interested in gymnastics. By eleven, she was one of the best in her class, and was always winning trophies and such. Ever sense, she's been doing okay with her life. She's still secluded, and sticks to herself, but is pretty much like any other kid out there.

Cerelia can create apparitions and change the taste of a food. The apparitions she make will look a little ghostly unless she exerts a tremendous amount of effort. They usually disappear within ten minutes, and, though she has complete control over them, they are very distracting for her. The longer an apparition is kept "alive", and how active the apparition is, determine how taxing it is for Cerelia to maintain it. Creating a fake rock for two minutes will be a breeze, but after creating, say, a dog, for more than 7 or 8 minutes will cause her to nearly pass out. Apparitions cannot make sound and operate much like ghosts--they cannot move anything in the real world and are pretty much thin air--anyone can walk through them. If an apparition is to move, she has to make puppeteer-like motions with her hands. Otherwise, she can hold an apparition in place with her mind until she chooses to release it. She calls apparitions "ghosties". Cerelia can also alter the taste of food. After having its taste altered, the food will no longer have a smell, but will taste the same to everyone who tries it. Whether they like it or not is much like how real tastes work--some people may like it while others do not. Changing the taste of her food is very simple and doesn't task Cerelia at all. She does not need to chant or make hand motions or anything--all it takes is a wish, and her food will change taste.

She speaks Cantonese and Mandarin, and often mutters insults to others under her breath in one of the two. Otherwise, she hardly ever speaks it. Her English has an American accent.
Looks:
Standing at 5'4", Cerelia's pretty average. She weighs around 127 lbs. and has undyed dark brown hair and eyes. She has side bangs and armpit-length hair. She has two lobe piercings on each ear hardly ever wears anything but studs in either one. Cerelia has slight curves and shoulders that are a bit too broad for her liking. She usually dresses in dark, cool colors like deep purple, olive green, dark grey, navy, and (her most common one) black. She usually pairs some top in the aforementioned colors with a random pair of jeans and very minimal makeup. Cerelia has a tiny infinity symbol tattooed behind her right ear.



History:
Though she originally lived in downtown San Fran, she and her family moved to Iron Pass Freshman year when her best friend, Juliette, disappeared into thin air. She has a little brother, who's eight and more of a demon than a human, a little yellow corn snake named Collide, and a cat named Georgia (they call her Peach). Her mother and father are both workaholics and constantly on business trips.
Juliette was pretty, smart, and sweet. She'd been the perfect Yin to Cerelia's Yang. They were closer than sisters and never told a single soul any of the other's secrets. Juliette calmed the hotheaded Cerelia down and made sure she didn't rush into things. Juliette had been walking home one day alone in the city. Though it was only three thirty in the afternoon and the sun was still high in the early autumn sky, someone had managed to kidnap her or something--no one really knows what or how. All Cerelia knows is that her BFFI (Best Friend For Infinity, because BFF just wasn't enough) was gone. Five or six weeks later, a day or two after the police called off the search, a multiple large containers of blood were found in an alleyway. It was all from Juliette, and there was simply to much for her to have lived. The police concluded she was dead, there was a funeral, and that was that. In her grief, she got her tattoo illegally without her parent's permission, but has never regretted. Soon after, the Nius decided that San Fran wasn't nrealy as safe as they'd presumed and promptly packed up and moved out.
Cerelia has been writing letters ever since. Nothing she'd ever send, of course. How could she? After all, she'd been writing letters to her dead best friend. Though she's still hotheaded and impulsive, she now often zones out into silence, pondering who-knows-what. She's sarcastic and snarky and just a bit cynical, but fiercely loyal and protective.

I am terrbly sorry for ditching this. I didn't intend to, but real life issues (school and depression and others) caused me to go on a temporary hiatus from the world of Chicken Smoothie.
