"Well damn! Who are you, pretty girl? Me? Oh I'm just Christan." Just Christan. Yeah, right. Christan is that one guy. He doesn't have a reputation for nothing. He's the kid thats high half the time, and doesn't really take things too seriously. As far as he's concerned, his brain cells are doing just fine from all he's done. Man, Christan does some crazy sh*t, I'm telling you. But he's totally worth it. Drama free, worry free, care free; that's his motto. He's that one popular bad a*s kid who's pretty much untouchable. And he knows it. Living high on life, he's got it good. There ain't nothing bothering this boy. He doesn't know what he's gonna do with his life, but he doesn't really care. Eighteen and on top of the world. He goes by Christan. That's it. No shortenings, no tolerations of being called Chris or Tan or any of that weird crap. As far as his middle name goes, no one really knows. As in, Christan's never really told anyone. Now since his parents were too busy with their own lives to realy ever notice their son, he's never asked about his last name. So the origins of that remains unknown. Anyways, all that really matters is the fact that he's a hottie with a body, and he knows it. Definitely a ladies man, this one. That's not to say he's got a big ego, just...read on and you'll begin to understand Christan in some small way or another.
"You checking me out, babe? Yeah, that's right, I'm checking you out too." Obviously Christan doesn't even need his smooth voice or flirty lines to cue up the girls. Man, some people are just born with it all. And Christan's kind of one of them. He's got a nicely symmetric face. He has big, wide round eyes that make him look just innocent and cheeky enough. His eyes are very dark brown, almost black, framed by thick lashes. Christan has a cute little nose. His lips are pink and soft, just kissble enough looking. He's got a wide, cheerful and intoxicating smile and straight, white teeth. Yeah, he's glad he got braces in middle school now. He wasn't always so great looking. Before he moved here in freshman year and soared to popularity, he was a wreck. Bad skin, braces, weird. But he pulled his sh*t together, as he likes to say, and now hes where he is today. He's tall, standing at 6'1, and lanky. His arms are wiry but long, same as his legs. He's kind of got the build of a runner. He has a four pack, the way he likes. Not too flabby and not to weirdo hulk body builder looking. See, he's sort of a perfectionist, it's what keeps him untouchable, and his looks matter. You might call it vain, but being Christan, he really doesn't give a f**k what you think. He's good at basketball, even though he doesn't really play all that much anymore. He's got a scholarship, but he's debating what to do about it. See, he'll have to take screening and tests, and Christan really doesn't wanna have to give up his juice. If you know what I mean. Anyways, he has long fingers, and actually knows how to play the piano fairly well. He's actually got a scholarship for that, as well. Again, he's not really sure if that'll work. He's got the world at his feet but likes singing more. He wants to be in a band, or if that doesn't work out, at least have a singing career. It's his passion, maybe one of the few things he can hold on to. And Christan has that look about him, of a singer, or whatnot. The clothes he wears, the way he acts. He definitely could be someone succesful. Fact is, Christan could probably be anything he wants. He's got the looks, the talent, the brains. Some people, man, some people.

Closed off. Christan isn't easy to become friends with. Sure, he's popular, people kinda love him. They want to say they're friends with him. They do say it, in all actuality. But that doesn't mean he says it back. Or even cares. His close friends, whittled down to a few other people. And there's only about maybe one person that he would actually tell anything to. So yes, he has trust issues. He's closed off. He's nice if you first meet him, but not all that friendly. He likes sticking with the kids he knows well.
Sk8er Boi. Christan's the kid who's always got his skateboard or longboard with him. He wants to get around town? Screw driving, he's all for his bike or board. He loves skiing and snowboarding, as well as surfing and paddleboarding. He's the kid that can do all the skate tricks and skates with friends, not usually from this group. He likes being in sick skating, skiing, snowboarding, and bike vids.
Daring. Christan is always up for a good challenge. Look, he's kind of crazy, and will do almost anything. He's a gnarly smoker, does shrooms and sh*t. Not that that's good. But it's just who Christan is. And people tend to overlook that, because he's actually a pretty nice guy. He does crazy stunts, and is very adventurous. He'll be outside doing crazy stuff 24/7.
Energetic. There ain't nothing that can stop this kid. He's all go go go. He wakes up early, goes to bed late, and is non-stop all day every day. YOLO, man. He's gone bungee jumping, parachuting, rock climbing. Surfs, swam with dolphins. You name it, he's either done it or is up for it. Sure, you could say he's an adrenaline junkie, but that's just how some people like to live, high on life. He can't sit still, rarely anyways. He loves talking and telling stories and just always has to move. One time, he had to take four hour testing. Man, you should have seen him. His leg was shaking non-stop and the entire time he was tapping his foot against the floor. When the were finally let out, he ran down the halls and then took a lap around the school before going to his remaining classes.
Fading. Yeah, he's insane. People just think it's a phase, or he's just putting on a show. But man, Christan's literally not all there. He's fading. He's never had the greatest life, it's been kind screwed up. But he's made the best of it. But now, that everything else is falling apart again, he's losing it. He needs concrete in his life. He doesn't know what he's going to become, what to do with himself or where to go in life. And secretly, it's killing him. He doesn't know what to do with his life. Doesn't have a bajillion scholarships, and doesn't know what to do with the little two he has. He's smart, sure. But he's not a rocket scientist, isn't on his way to being one. Truth is, he's scared, though he'd never admit it. He doesn't know whats coming next, and he doesn't like it.
Playful. Christan's actually quite the flirt. He loves girls, it's true. But what highschool/college guy doesn't? He loves making girls feel special and telling them they are special and beautiful. Relationships are fine with him, but sometimes he's not always really in them. Not all there. It takes a girl he really likes to make Christan be a real boyfriend. If he really likes her, he'll beat himself up because he believes he's not good enough for her. He'll be sweet, kind, sincere. More quiet, kinda shy with her. It's cute, really. But he's conflicted, and when he really falls for someone, he really falls for them.
Himself. Christan is not afraid to be, well... Christan. He's himself. Secure, he is open to being himself. He doesn't let others get him down. He lives by the quote, 'those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.' Well, that's how he sees life. If you can't handle him, you can't have him. He is not afraid to be silly or funny, sweet or caring. He is open and honest, the rare kind of person who's grounded, and right, and real. He may do stupid things, and he may not want to always be there, but he's always honest. Always Christan.
Kind. He's actually not all that bad. He's never been to jail, even though everyday he probably could get busted. He's respectful to adults, mostly. Sure he's had his fair share with girls, but that doesn't mean he's a bad kid. He likes animals, and wants a dog. He is good with little kids and very polite at times. In fact, he can be quite the gentleman.
Humble. Growing up with very little, he's learned to be humble. He is quiet, mostly. Even though he is outgoing, and energetic, he can be quiet lots. Doesn't always have much to say. Growing up without much, he doesn't judge others. Someone's gay? Great, he's straight. They dress weird? Well, he can't exactly afford top designer clothes either. He keeps his opinions to himself, really.
Besides That... In a world where he only wants to get away, he's the only one whos human. Who's normal. When all he wants is something else, he gets...himself. No powers, no magic, no fairy-tale endings. So where does he come into the picture? Well, Christan doesn't even know himself.

January 3rd, 2:08 in the morning. A small, dark eyed baby enters the world. And things have never been the same since. His mother should never been a mother. Should never have had a kid. She was sixteen years old. His father was eighteen. It was a disaster from the beginning. Both were just stupid kids, a bit like Christan himself. Well, his dad was more of an all out sporty jock who fell in love with the wrong girl. The one who got high, was crazy, flirty. Sort of special. She got her hooks in him and well, Christan happened. His mother's name was Angela Bryce Myers. His father? Daniel Josh De'Ocamp. Angela didn't have the most supportive parents, her relationship with them was bad, and they weren't really suitable parents, either. She was kicked out of the house when she was pregnant. Couldn't afford abortion, and was too stubborn to let Daniel's parents pay for it. Daniel's parents were stuffy, hard set religious people. This shouldn't have happened to their son. So they rented him and Angela a condo to stay, all expenses paid for. One condition, keep his family out of their life and return to school. His football, basketball, and baseball scholarships weren't going to be wasted. So Daniel went back to school, his sports, and picked up a job as well. He kept Angela and baby Christan out of his parents way. Angela got her sh*t partway together and got a job at the nursery, where she kept Christan while working. Things weren't great, but they made it work. But as they fell together, they fell apart. When Christan was three, Angela fell sick with cancer and kept it secret. They wouldn't be able to afford medicine or doctors expenses. So she just kept doing what she was doing. Daniel was going to college now, and a job. She had managed to finish her highschool through online courses, and now took on two full time jobs. Not that they paid much. But Dan's parents money helped. She grew too sick though, without the medication, and Daniel came home one night to find her collapsed on the floor, barely breathing. He rushed her to the hospital, where everything tore apart at the seams. He found out she had cancer, and had been hiding it from him. He held her hand and watched as she took her last breath and left the world. So there you have it, he was now a single father trying to raise a son he didn't really want and couldn't afford. With Angela gone, his parents stepped halfway into the picture. But he was bitter towards them, and bitter in general. They babysat Christan while he kept up a multitude of jobs, college, and sports. By the time Christan was seven, he started staying in the tiny condo by himself, taking the bus home from school and walking everywhere. Daniel eventually finished his four year college, and made it into professional football. His rookie season and career were ruined though, when he busted up his knee. He would never play again. This took things over the edge. He got a job, but he was bored and hated it. He drank himself to sleep each night and ignored his son, for the most part. When Christan was eleven, he got himself a job, and it was like he lived alone. His father was no dad, just a man living in the same home, one he barely saw. Christan became kind of bitter towards his father and his drinking, his endless array of girlfriends. But he was a good, quiet kid. His father would get drunk and beat him sometimes, but Christan dealt with it in his own silent ways. Turning to music or skating or whatnot. He stayed in school and got good grades. He was popular, but he did crazy stuff. Drugs, mostly. Just to get high and forget about it all for a bit. Girls, yeah, he did things with them. But he isn't all bad. Now, he works a lot and he used the money he'd saved up over the years to buy himself a crappy little apartment. His father is out of his life, they rarely talk, aside from a rare birthday card with a check from his dad. Christan's only items are an air matress, a blanket, his backpack and school supplies, a bike, and old laptop, a skateboard, a pair of vans, and some clothing. Perhaps a phone and a crappy old hand-me down ipod. Thats about it. But he gets by.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Her name is Elizabeth Lila-Mikayla Edwards. Yes it's a mouthful. She hates all of her names and has just decided to go by Kayla, taken from her first middle name 'Mikayla'. Kayla suits her, anyways. She is sixteen years old, and was born December Fourth. Obviously, she is female. She is a shape-shifter, lo-behold. Apprently, her powers only kicked in at the sweet, tender age of sixteen. So yep, the day she turned sixteen, her whole world turned upside down. She's not very controlled at this shape-shifting thing quite yet, after all, it hasn't even been a year since she got her powers, so to speak. The two main animals she been able to turn into so far has been a young doe and a tiger. She's aiming to get turning into a housecat down at the moment. It seems tigers might be a little suspicious in town, and well, as far as being a deer goes, it's hunting season. Not so good.

Kayla is rather tall for her gender. Standing at 5'8, she weighs a mere 100 pounds. Her body structure is slight and slender. She looks fragile, easily broken. Delicate. She has long, slender fingers and bony wrists and ankles. Her feet are womens size seven shoe. Kayla has long, skinny arms and legs. Her legs are quite muscular, though. She has a flat stomach, even slightly visible abs. She is very flexible, bending this way and that, able to do the split. All of this comes from a life of competitive and company dancing, as well as competitive gymnastics. Kayla has narrow, flexible hips and very arched feet. She is dainty and graceful. Her face is round and innocent, with wide doe eyes, a small nose, and high, prominent cheekbones. Her ears are small, double pierced. She has light pink lips and an upwards curving, soft smile. Thanks to braces from middleschool, her teeth are even, for the most part. They are fairly white. Her canine teeth, as they are reffered to, are longer than average, and stick up above her other teeth, pointed and kind of curved inwards. She hated them when she was younger, because people teased her and called her vampire. She's over it now. Even likes them. She feels they are one of the few things that make her look less breakable. She has big, light blue eyes framed with thick lashes. Her eyebrows are the color of her hair, and are thin and dark, full, with tapered ends and a slight arch. Her skin is white as snow, soft. But her feet have blisters and both feet and hands have tough skin and pads, and callouses. Again, from a life of dancing and gymnastics. Funny thing is, she's tall for gymnastics. But she's good at it. The hair on her arms and legs is very little, but a soft, fuzzy sort of hair and blonde in color. Generally, she keeps her legs shaved or waxed. Kayla has beautiful, dark brown hair, with a few shades lighter in streaks. All natural. Her hair is soft and she takes good care of it. It falls just past her shoulders. Often she wears it simply natural, which is a sort of wavy, crimped look. Otherwise, she puts it up in a dancer bun or a high ponytail. She's very feminine looking, and very girly. In the sense of how she looks. She likes painting her nails, keeping her hygene up. She is often seen with nails painted either light pink, mint, or nude. She enjoys clothes, like most women. Kayla can usually be seen wearing either simple grey vans shoes, or short, soft brown ugg boots. She likes tights and leggings, with long shirts or comfy sweaters, and necklaces or scarves. She also enjoys flowy skirts and dresses. Simple, elegant and playful things. Kayla likes bows, rings, and headbands. She keeps her makeup soft and simple, light pink on the lips, and either black or brown eyeliner. Rarely does she wear mascara. Sometimes blush, to make her look alive, and not so dead and pale. But that's about it.

Kayla is the innocent one. A dream child, perhaps. The good kid. Intelligent, quiet, not troublesome, goes with the flow, kind, generous. Happy.
Dreamer. Kayla is very creative and artsy. Ever since she was a little kid, she has been able to spend hours in her happy place, day-dreaming, thinking, doodling, and making up stories. Some call it gifted, she calls it normal. Her happy place, as she refers to, can be one of two things. It can be anywhere she feels comfortable, at ease. Like the woods or her room. Or it could be where she is in her mind, at the moment. What or who she is thinking of, dreaming up. She likes to write and read, and also likes acting. The rare kind of person who likes acting merely because she enjoys finding ways to express herself, and ways to be someone else for awhile.
Quiet. Notice there is a difference between quiet and reserved. She is a very open person, just quiet, on the whole. Take for instance, a group of kids. She may talk and laugh with her friends, but she is usually more mature and doesn't scream or freak out, or get crazy. She's perfectly friendly and doesn't mind striking up a conversation with a stranger. She's slightly shy, but gets over it quickly. She likes talking to people, and is a better listener than talker. She doesn't mind being on her own, and is quite independant. Mostly, she likes hanging out with only a few friends at a time, or things get too crazy. In her mind, at least.
Amusing. Kayla likes to make people smile. She has a quirky, fun sense of humor and loves being silly. She is funny, but never at another's expense. Ever. Kayla herself laughs easily, an intoxicating, bubbly, charming laugh that makes you want to laugh as well. She's the type of person that even though she doesn't always mean to, can make you laugh or smile, by just being Kayla. Herself.
Kind. Kayla would neverwant to hurt someone, or make them sad. She is a very empatheic and sympathetic person. She is non-judgemental, a very rare kind of spirit. Usually, she thinks of very little when seeing someone or meeting others for the first time. She has no discrimination against race, sexuality, poor, rich, popular, nerdy. This makes her easy to get along with, and to be friends with. It also makes her a floater. She doesn't just stick with one group of friends, she drifts between the different groups, whether it be popular people, nerds, geeks, wannabes, jocks, sporty girls, etc. She doesn't care. She makes friends easily. She doesn't like bullying, and though even tempered, gets easily angered when it comes to others being hurt. Whether it be people or animals, she is very opinionated about jerks, bullies, and evil people. They just get under her skin too much. Kayla rarely lies. She is honest, and blunt, but not unless you ask her for her straight up opinion. But she is nice enough not to give it out if you don't ask for it.
Agreeable. Kayla usually goes with flow, doesn't have too many opinions, and lets others decide things. Unless she feels strongly about it. It's not to say she's a follower, she just usually goes along with things, unless they are deemed as bad in her opinion. Or stupid. What I mean to say, is she's easy to get along with, doesn't back up the system and generally doesn't mind what she ends up doing with her friends. She's kind, patient, fun, and adventurous, up for most things. She is open and willing to try new things.
Intelligent. She has always gotten all A's, and is very intelligent. She has plans on attending Stanford, Yale, or an English university. She is smart enough to know where the line between too much and too little of school is. See, it's not that she's one of those people that only care about school. In fact, she's not a big fan of school. But she wants to be able to have her backup in case a life of dancing and gymnastics doesn't work out for her. She wants to make good money, and settle down comfortably along the coast somewhere. Some think she has everything all planned out, but really, she's just making sure in case her life gets crazy, she's got something to fall back on. Sure, she's knows she wants to be a dancer and a gymnast, and live by the coast, get married eventually and maybe have kids. But that's about as far as it goes. Dance and gymnastic careers don't last long, so she is unsure of where else her life might lead.
Innocent. She is at times too trusting. She forgives easily. Forgives, but doesn't forget. STill, it has caused her some pain in the past. She is optimistic, always looks for the bright side. Is happy, cheerful, and pleasant. She always thinks that someone is innocent unless proven guilty. Well, it's not always the case. You could say she is naive, which she is, on some levels. But you have to remember, she's only sixteen. She would never ever harm a fly. Well, maybe a fly, or spider, but that's about it. She loves nature and animals and always tries to recycle or donate to foundations. She is good with kids and volunteers at places on a regular basis. Some people call her fake, think she's too nice. But that doesn't matter. Kayla is happy, for the most part, and doesn't really mind what others think. She is unique in this fact, and unique in general.
In the end...So Kayla is the calm, quiet one. Delicate, graceful, sweet. She's innocent.

8:46 pm, December Fourth. A baby girl is born. Kayla. She doesn't cry long, and eventually falls asleep in her loving mothers arms, a thin layer of fuzzy brunette hair on her tiny head, and thick lashes on her little, innocent face. Her skin is soft ,and pale for a baby, and her eyes are a bright, beautiful blue. Her mothers name is Anna Claire Mariana. Her father is John Edwards. She is born in a hospital located in a smaller town just outside of London, England. Kayla is not the first child to be brought into this family. Already, she has an older brother, Andrew. He is two. Kayla is a quiet baby, doesn't usually wake everyone up in the middle of the night, and isn't needy. She is a fast learner, and very amusing. Already she has captured the hearts of everyone she has met. She adores her older brother. As they grow up, she tags along with him on his adventures, and like a good brother, he looks after her, and is protective of her. They almost have a baby sister, when Kayla is three, but it is a stillborn baby, a terrible tradegy. It puts a sort of dark cloud over the family for awhile, but lifts evenually. Kayla is raised with her older brother in the English countryside. Her accent is very subtle, and soft, always there but not strong or particularly noticeable if you've known her long enough. At the tender age of fourteen, Kayla moved from England with her fmaily to Maine, in America. Now they live on a large span of private property with a few private, rocky beaches and cliffs to call their own. She has settled in quite well in Maine, gathering friends and becoming fairly liked. She has grown as a young lady. Her brother is eighteen now, and in his last year of highschool, so Kayla is friends with many senoirs now. She is happy with her life, living with her family. Yes, there have been sibling rivalries and fights between her parents. But no threats of divorce and her brother and her make up soon enough. For the most part, when Kayla looks back on her life, she remembers trips to the zoo, vacations, watching scooby-doo, bugs bunny, fun adventures with her brother, christmases, birthday parties, thanksgiving with the relatives, and just...happiness. A childhood you'd want to spend forever in. Now she happily lives with her parents and her brother, their horses and goats, chicken and sheep on the farm, and the cats and dogs. Kayla has her own cat, a young female orange tabby named Frierra, and an old, sweet rescue mutt named Toby. So for the most part, her life has been fairly normal, and life has treated her well.
it's been a long time since I've been here. perhaps I'll stay awhile.
