Fleeting Humanity (Lab Roleplay- semi-lit) Scientist Needed

Sheilik>>>I smiled again in amusement at her question, "I've been moving around from lab to lab my whole life because I was genetically cloned from different animal DNA." I paused to contemplate the rest of my answer; "I guess this lab wanted to see why I've been transferred to so many labs in the short life I've had so far." Most of this was true, but I still wasn't sure why I was here. The scientists here are very secretive so I can't get much information out of them. "Other than that I'm not quite sure why I'm here, but whatever the reason something seems... off with this lab." I trailed I off as I stared into space again, thinking about why i really was here. "Why do you think you're here?" I asked quietly.

I shrug. "When I was a child, I was born with wings and I could... Communicate with animals." I say. "I flew once when I was being bullied by the children from my village. It was exhilerating. The freedom, the whieghtlessness!" I said this sentence with fervor. "When my parents found out..." I drifted off from this. I sighed.

Sheilik>>>My smile dropped down into a look of distress; I had never known the taste of freedom before. The only freedom I've had is during social hours similar to this, where I wasn't being experimented on. Then again she had to hide she wings for so long, and when she did get her freedom she was brought here. Kind of depressing, I thought to myself. "I've never had my feet be higher than three feet off the ground, it must be fun to be that high up." I said rather cheerfully. 'Do you have good eyesight?" I asked suddenly, she was an avian human so her eyesight must be someone better than a human's.

Towards Sheilik: Okay, your a good guy.

"Um..." I say. "Yes, I do. I could count the blades of grass when I was flying, so I think I do." I reply, closing my eyes. The details were hurting them a bit. "Why? Erm, what are your mutations, or as I prefer, abilities?" I ask. My wings fold against my back carefully. "When is the next time the scientists going to... You know... I can't say it." I say. I couldn't say that word, experimented. I smile and gulp as I wonder when. If it would be soon. I hoped not.

Sheilik>>>"Holy crap, that's some pretty nice eyesight." I said in a joking manner, for what I said did sound a little weird. "I don't particularly have abilities except for the fact that I can run pretty damn fast, I'm very agile, and I can hear things miles away if I wanted to." I pointed to my huge fan-like ears. (I will have a picture of Sheilik tomorrow) "However when I was still in the cloning process something was messed up, leaving me completely blind." I paused a bit for I had a tendency to just pour information continuously while talking, often leaving the person I was talking to like they had just tried to drink form a fire hydrant, as the saying goes. "And yes, that is why I brought up the topic of eyesight in the first place." I had no answer for Juniper's next question however; "I'm not sure when, I'm pretty new here as well." I trailed off and stared into space; a habit of mine if you haven't noticed. "I haven't given much thought to the scientists, and I don't know what they're going to do with us." I started to become anxious again, and I hoped we would change the topic.

Towards Sheilik: Decently happy.

"What do you mean, cloning process?" I asked, curious. I didn't know people were cloned. "I wonder if I could fly around here... The scientists certainly would like that." I say. "I got here about five years ago..." I say sighing. "I never was myself again after my first day..." I say.

Sheilik>>>I swallowed in anxiety, she did change the topic but this one was even from nerve racking. "I-I don't quite know how they did it, the never told me directly." I said laconically, but I couldn't help but answer; "They were able to clone the features of animals by using stem cells I think, and then they manipulated the DNA in specific ways so I had these features." I said, it was a half assed answer but that's all I knew about my creation. "And as I said before they must've gotten the genetic code to the part of my brain that controls eyesight wrong, which is why I can't gather light from the outside; thus resulting in blindness." I paused to let Juniper take it all in, then continued; "When they realized they'd screwed that up they enhanced my scent of smell and gave me they huge-ass ears. It helps compensate for it, but it's still a pain in the ass." I was surprised when she said she'd been here for five years, I wanted to ask her what kind of things they did to us here but I knew better than to bring things like that up. But once again I couldn't help it but ask; "What kinda of... experiments, do these people run here?"

I cover my face. "You seriously do not want to know," I say. Interesting. I thought it was a great idea to have awesome ears and an amazing sense of smell. "Can you smell what we are going to have for lunch?" I asked, hungry. It was almost lunchtime. I called every meal lunch. "I call every meal lunch," I say for his benefit.
