Fleeting Humanity (Lab Roleplay- semi-lit) Scientist Needed

Evan shrugged, "The subject will be brought up again in time." He said passively. It was better to placate the situation rather than drive her on to the point of anxiety attacks. He wouldn't give up, though. That he could promise. He would go to the ends of the earth to find out everything about her odd condition, and why she has it. No, a better question- for the use of science- would be; how she has she ability. Yes, that was his objective, and the game was not yet over.

Towards practically everbody: absolutely afraid!

I sat still, rocking on my feet. My large black wings were tucked neatly against my body, keeping me warm. I was sore all over and didn't want to see anybody's face. And most of all, I was afraid. Afraid of being to be pushed beyond my limits. I didn't recognize the girl before me, the one who ran away from people, unlike the previous one, the fighter. I sigh and suck my pinky.

(okay, I'm gonna try the intro again with some idea about what the hell is going on XD)
The scents that fill my nose were not like any I've smelled before, a majority of them have scent of a human's in variation of some sort of animal. The scent closest to me has the scent of human and the scent of avian variation, not one I am particularly familiar with. But all the scents have fear lodged into them, with made me feel more anxious than before. My ears could pick up many sounds, mostly just subtle conversation, but other than that it was damn quiet. I could imagine what it must see like, all the variations of humans interacting, but yet I can't. Boredom was beginning to set in, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to start a conversation with the avian human closest to me. "Sooooo." I started. "What's your name?"

I shriek quietly as I hear someone talk to me. "What? Um? Who are you?" I ask, cowering at the back of my cage. When I realize it's not a scientist, I unwind from my ball. "Sorry..." I murmur. "I'm Juniper." I reply to the question. I'm still afraid, but not as afraid of the other experiments then the scientists. I was so jumpy lately. I look at the speaker.

My ears went back involuntary for I did not expect for her to answer as loud as she did. "Juniper?" I asked to make sure I said it somewhat correctly. "I'm Sheilik. How's your day goin'?" I asked sarcastically, I figured if I was to have any plans on getting out of here a sense of humor couldn't hurt to have. Her scent was quite strange for an avian human; I wanted to learn more about her, (I realized I was starting to think like one of those scientists which was an unnerving thought) and I planned to get to know her more through trust, and maybe even friendship if I live long enough. I could smell the unease on her, I realized I must've been staring into space for longer than I intended.

Towards the rest of the world: AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I nod. "Uh, not well?" I say in a questioning tone. I shrink a bit and look at the boy. He had been staring at me for a bit, and it was scaring me. I back up a bit, hoping not to run into something. He had pronounced my name right the first time, which was a good change. The scientists always pronounced is Jun-i-per. Even though it was June-i-per.

I attempted a smile to show that I ment no harm or however she wanted to see it. "Not good eh?" I started off while retaining my normal thoughtful look. "Yeah I guess you could say the same about my day, if you add confusion and a bunch of other hope-shattering emotions." I stretched a bit to get the stiffness out of my back. "Which wing do you belong in?" I asked rather mellowy, I didn't really get the concept of the different east and west wings; all I thought I knew was that I was in the east wing.

I finally look at the person properly and realize it's a girl. "Well, I'm in the east wing, because I was naturally born with my mutations," I say quietly. My black wings are still hugging me, keeping me warm. "Why are you in here, anyways?" I asked, still quiet. I pick up a blade of grass and roll it between my fingers. I watch for any other people, scientists or not.
