[Vraska the Unseen]

Jade rolled her eyes, pulling the collar of her shirt down. Burned into the left side of her neck was a bar code. "I'm marked as mentally ill, but I am in my right mind." She nodded, pulling her collar back up. She was being very spotty with her explanation, the guarded expression in her eyes never leaving. "I have been ordered not to explain further." She muttered dropping her head.
Alexander ran into the wall, cracking his nose. "Ow." He huffed, blinking several times. "Stupid wall!" He growled.

Evan swallowed this development for a moment before shifting. He tilted his head the other way as he stared at her curiously. A small chuckle left his lips, but it didn't sound joyous. He pulled absently as his sleeves, tugging them further down on his arms. His eyes never left her and what was hidden beneath her collar.
"Fortunately for you, Seth should be coming by tomorrow. Rest up for today, Jade, and we'll take it up with Mr. Boss-man when he gets here. Lyetn, I want you taking the paperwork and finish it. I want all of it done and shipped off by midnight. Don't do it and I'll be looking quickly for a new assistant. Moreover, I'll be swapping someone's nightly wine with what might be a hallucinogen."

"NO!" Jade growled, "Seth should know, unless lazy over here didn't send him that as well!" She turned her angry gaze to Lyetn. Standing and walking in an almost straight line she left her office, her hand flat to the wall and her eyes closed. She was shaking slightly when she got back to the research room, locking the door behind her and pocketing the only key to that room. "Идиот"(Idiot) She muttered to herself, beginning to curse horribly in Russian. She sighed, taking up a test tube of a thick, sickly green substance. "I wonder..." She muttered, setting that back down and attempting to hunt down the bright purple liquid she had been messing with before she fell asleep.

Evan watched Jade get up and leave bemusedly. She seemed very upset, and it made him excited. He loved it when he was on an interesting path. What he would give to know her secrets- it would just be too much! That odd bar code, her odd way of avoiding questions with double meanings- they were all so amazing. This was now a game that he was involved in, and this was his fetish for the moment. He wouldn't stop until he found out her every secret.
"The perfect human genes. It's only a matter of time with all these freaks around me." He said to himself. Luckily, Lyetn stayed quiet. If he had asked what Evan meant, Evan would have stabbed him there and then.

Jade looked down in astonishment. "This is...just no. I need a human to test this." She muttered, looking through a microscope at a severed hand. The thumb and index fingers had what appeared to be bits of flint and steel embedded in the finger pads, as well as the palm having some sort of fireproof coating and kindling on and in it. "How does this work?" She muttered to herself stepping back and leaning on the counter, a puzzled expression shadowing her face. She shrugged and turned to a brain she had laid out on another table, cutting it apart very carefully. "The mind is a labyrinth, a puzzle. And while the paths of the brain are plainly visible, its ways deceptively apparent, its destinations are unknown. Its secrets still secret. And, if we are honest, it is the lure of the labyrinth that draws us to our chosen field to unlock those secrets. Others have been here before us and have left us signs, but we, as explorers of the mind, must devote our lives and energies to going further to tread the unknown corridors in order to find ultimately, the final solution. We have to see, we have to know... " She muttered under her breath, examining the brain carefully, a soft smile on her face.
