Born to Fly (A Maximum Ride Roleplay)(Should I remake this?)

"Well... It's in the city." Emil smiles apologetically. "Which means we won't be flying to it. Not once we're out of the forest, at least." He runs his hand through his hair. "I suppose we could fly high enough, then make a dive for it, but... That's far too dangerous..."

I nod, We're okay to walk. I offer, I know that flying would be dangerous, and I'd like to see the city not as a captive.

Emil's smile turns sunny. "Great. So you two will be able to meet the family, get some food in you... It'll work out, don't worry."

I smile shyly and nod. Then gesture to Abigail to follow me as I walk behind Emil. And then I get curious, So, if you're an avian, how come you live in the city? Wouldn't it be a whole lot safer if you lived somewhere else? I ask, just because I really do want to know. I wouldn't live there no matter what. I'd rather Abigail be safe than dead.

Emil shrugged, glancing back at Lauren. "Usually, that would be the case... But my dad used to work for the guy who created... Creatures like us... Now he runs a lab that tries to help us fit into a more normal life. I've been able to go to school, play sports... For all intents and purposes, I'm a normal human guy. When dad smuggled me out of the place, he adopted me, too. So, here I am..." He shrugged, then mused to himself, "But I still can't seem to help Aunt Anita..."

Who's Aunt Anita? I ask before I can decide if I should or not. Abigail elbows me in side and I et it; she hates it when I ask questions, she thinks I'm 'prying'.

Emil sighs. "My Aunt... She also worked for the guy who created us. But, unlike dad, she had a biological kid... But now... Nevermind, we have to keep going, and I don't think you'd get it." He brushes the thoughts away.

(( Time jump for a few of my really old characters. Sorrelle and Anita. ))

It had been weeks since Sorrelle and Keiy had split up to find shelter. They had agreed on a meeting place, but he had never reappeared. Sorrelle figured he'd gotten captured and taken back to the School... She sighed and kicked a rock into the spring. How long had she been hiding in this cavern for? At least three weeks. She'd managed to find an underground spring and lots of rats and bats to kill for food--all thanks to this stupid glowing necklace of hers. Sure, they weren't the best food, but it was her safest bet... She missed the sunlight. Missed the rain and city. Maybe Keiy had found a good place to hide in the city and couldn't get away? That had to be it! Of course...

Anita stared out the window of her office, hoping Emil would have found her by now. No such luck... She sighed. "If only..." Shutting the blinds, she got back to work, ignoring the faint glow of her necklace.

Don't Lauren, you're just gonna get int trouble... I croos my arms and look at him, Try me. No, no, no, no... Another elbow from Abigail. Ouch. Alriht, I admit, maybe I should've been less...erm, ish about it, but that's no need to elbow me.

Emil just glares at Lauren from the corner of his eye, then continues walking. "My dad might not be home, which means we'll have to go to the lab first. There's a few others like us there--they have sleeping quarters that are comfortable enough... It's not like where we came from. It's more... Home-like."

Anita finished her work for the night--it was getting late, so she'd have to continue as soon as she woke up the next day. She was tired--not that her work was tiring, she just disliked waiting; it drained her energy. So she lied down on the cot by the wall to sleep. She needed to finish work, but maybe some sleep would help clear her head...

Sorrelle took a deep breath, now standing at the mouth of the cave. She had decided to go into town and look for Keiy--or at least to find someone who wouldn't try to kill her... Maybe she'd even steal some real food, get some new clothes... Everything was uncertainty. She spread her wings, ready to fly as a soft wind carried new scents to her nose. "Eh...?" The scents were two females and a somewhat familiar male. Who were they? She knew they couldn't be too close, but they also weren't in the city... She listened close to hear them. No such luck. With a sigh, she decided to follow the smells and see if they were going to kill her or not.
