Torrence smiled, "I'll save some for when you wake up." he promised. he quietly slipped out and put on a pot of coffee to brew.

Riley nodded, closing his eyes and falling asleep almost instantly. An hour later, he woke up, slowly getting out of bed with a wince. Ow. Everything hurt. Carefully making his way into the kitchen, he sat down with a light grunt of pain.

Torrence looked up from a report. "I'll warm your coffee." he said, standing. Then he grinned, "Halt would kill right about now." he put the coffee on to heat.

"Thanks." Riley said tiredly, lifting his shirt and frowning at the bruises. His entire ribcage was black, blue, and yellow. Great. At the mention of Halt, he looked up. "Huh? Halt?" He'd heard stories of the legendary ranger.

"I'm not really supposed to do things for you." Torrence reminded his apprentice with a smile setting his cup of coffee on the table, "It;s supposed to be the other way around."

"Oh." Riley said, groaning as he leaned back in his chair, then found he couldn't lean forwards to grab the coffee. "I"m stuck." He muttered reluctantly.

Torrence hid a smile, handing his apprentice the coffee, "This will certainly put a damper on training, won't it?"

Riley reached for the coffee, taking a sip and then sighing, setting it back down. He put his arms up on the table, resting his head on them with a moan. "Everything hurts."

"You were hit by a Carriage." Torrence reminded him. "You won't die or have any lasting problems, but it will hurt like the dickens for a good long while."

"Nnnnnnghhhhhh..." Riley huffed, blindly reaching for his cup. He finally reached it and dragged it slowly across the table, back towards him, and lifted his head, resting his mouth on the edge of the mug and slurping up some coffee.
