Amanda snarled,"Shoot and we make our attack sooner. And only a coward would kill an animal. Are you a coward?" She stepped in front of Morte acting as a shield. 'I have to resist a little. I don't want him to suspect anything. Maybe he's not scared of branding himself a coward, in that case I won't lose Morte too.'

Rick scowled, "No more of a coward than your band of thieves. And what makes you so sure we won't be the first to attack? You do realize that you are going up against the United States Army, am I right? We have helicopters, tanks, more troops from other bases if we need them. All you have is a bunch of girls trained to fight dirty and some homemade weapons. If I where you, I'd shut my mouth."
Blitz stood besides Rick, even though he didn't have a gun. He stared at Amanda with narrowed eyes, still remembering how she held him at gun point and tried to kill him not that long ago.

((Well, long story short, all the army characters except Rick, Brian and Lyra went on a patrol to see where the gang of girls where at. They found them at the old mine shaft, just about to leave, and on their horses. Amanda, a gang girl, fell off her horse and Blitz tried to capture her (she's wanted for stabbing Rick in the arm) when another girl came up with a loaded bow. They made Blitz drop his gun and were going to kill him when Leo shot the girl with the bow and the soldiers left. When everybody got back to camp, Rick yelled at Leo for shooting the girl (although saving Blitz's life) and therefore starting a war with the gang, when Shilo stopped him. Shilo is a brand new dog handler so he's pretty naive and hasn't been around long enough to fear Rick. Rick decided not to punish Leo but he doesn't like Shilo for being "uppity". Then, a bunch of soldier rushed into Fort Duss. An entire company had been on patrol and then when ambushed, so there was a huge medical crisis. Leo and Blitz helped with triage, Brian Cahill (lieutenant and medic) is helping soldiers, Shilo is helping the vet with the scout dogs. Rick called more medics from another base and was helping when his dog, Delta, heard barking. Amanda, the gang girl, and her dog, Morte, where spying on Fort Duss when Morte started barking. Rick and Blitz found her. Rick's now holding her at gunpoint and telling her to put her hands against the fence and she isn't cooperating.
Some extra things you should know since you've been gone:
After a battle with the terrorists, the army has captured their leader, Amaranth.
In that same battle, Blitz's dog, Shadow, was shot in the leg. He almost died but now he's okay. But since he can't walk on it very well he will no longer be on active duty with Blitz. He will remain at base as a guard dog and still belong to Blitz. But since Blitz is a fully trained dog handler, they have given him a new scout dog, a stubborn German Shepherd named Spirit. When Blitz goes home, both Spirit and Shadow will go home with him.

((Well, how about just pretend she joined the gang and has been with the gang all this time you've been gone yada yada yada because when you left off she had just joined. How about she was sent to follow Amanda from a distance in case she ran into trouble while spying. And well, obviously, Amanda is in trouble now. Lucy can have a weapon with her if you want. The gang uses mainly bows but (I believe) they've also gotten some guns and stuff taken from the army.))

Amanda said coldly,"You don't even know us. If we're thieves then you're murderers. And you use guns made in a factory. Your victims have no chance to fight back. We use bows and arrows that we make ourselves and our victims can fight back. We simply use their weaknesses against them. Who is fighting dirty?" She turned and lifted Morte up to protect the mutt and started to walk away. She called over her shoulder,"Don't say I didn't warn you. You have finally crossed the line."
Susannah hurriedly carried the remaining stretchers towards the medic tent. She couldn't help but feel pity for the injured but she couldn't waste time with that so she tried to ignore it. She knew she had to treat them with dignity and not act all sorry for them.
