Neo wanted to cringe at the thought of scaring her. The lie he had made had him feeling guilty as well, because he wasn't one to lie. He pushed away the feeling reluctantly and laughed weakly again. He laid against the back of his cage, resting his eyes. He breathed for a moment, thinking about her question. He wouldn't suggest sleep; he was afraid he wouldn't wake up this time. There really was nothing they could do.
"I don't know, I can't think straight right now."

"Oh," I nodded, then sighed, "It's okay. I'm just.." I shivered and didn't finish my sentence, instead I began humming again, comforting myself by wrapping my arms around my knees that were pulled up to my chest. The melody was a sad one and at first I regretted singing it, but after a while my senses dimmed and I fell into some sort of trance, rocking back and forth and singing.

My 'parent' has decided to drag me off on a spontaneous holiday and we leave tomorrow, when she only told me about going for a two day trip(which has turned into a three week thing) yesterday.

Neo closed his eyes, lolled by her singing. It wasn't helping his resolution to stay awake in the least. That wasn't good, since he was trying not to look weak. In truth, his pride was hurt after getting the tar beat from him by Todd. He wanted to prove that he wasn't a weakling that could be beaten so easily. He wouldn't try anything as bad as trying to escape, but it was the small things that he would do to show he wasn't giving up.

Alec paced the hallways, guarding the door that housed the experiments. He was in a particularly foul mood, and his shift wasn't over yet, so he couldn't do a proper fix on his gear. His eye was still shorting out, his body parts freezing for a couple of seconds before they'll work again. He was stubborn, though and wouldn't let that hinder him. He was a guard, anyway, and he had a duty.

I carried them with me all day. Of course, I didn't bring all of them, only the ones I knew you or someone else would enjoy. I brought Logan a Hardy Boys code guide, but he wasn't there so I gave it to Po, and I gave Ilizibith the Witch of Blackbird Pond. Mekare I gave a book of really potent spells that I wanted to try, but never got around to doing. So when you come over [hopefully tomorrow or sometime next week], I'll let you choose from my whole library.))

"Welcome back, little experiment," Dr. James whistled happily as he walked into the room. Without delay, he began to prepare for what he was about to do. He was going to need a sharpie and a scalpel to insert the tracking chip, and a few healing tools to bring the boy back to health. He reached to grab a clipboard sitting on a table next to him, and read it to see the experiment's information.
"Hunter, is it?" he asked as he continued reading down the paper. He was aware of Hunter's unconcious state, but didn't want to ruin his good mood with silence. As he read further, he found out that the boy had been difficult in the past, and cringed inwardly. He wasn't sure what he'd do if this experiment was another Neo.
When he was finished, he sat the clipboard back where it had been when he walked in, then washed his hands and began to work. Just as he'd done before, he carefully drew a square on Hunter's arm to mark where he was going to cut. Afterwards, he set the chip in a container, so it would be in easy reach when he needed it.
"I hope you wake up," he said as he brought the scalpel to the boy's arm, "If only to hear you scream."

Wesley and Jane
"Goodnight brother," Jane whispered through the darkness of the room, and shifted her position on the bed. She smiled when she saw he was already asleep, then leaned forward to give him a small kiss on the cheek. More than anything, she was glad they were okay and back at the Institute. She'd thought he was going to die out in the forest, especially when the guards started to attack. It'd scared her almost to shock, and she'd been beyond happy to see Celina arrive on her jetpack.
"I'll see you in the morning, and we can play like we always do!" she smiled happily, her whisper turning to a happy shout before she closed her eyes to fall asleep next to him.
