Akos growled low in his throat at the thought of that, the thought of anyone hurting her for any reason would make him angry, but this was just sense and made him furious. The emotion surprised him, he'd never been angry before, he was usually just scared, now he was both, angry at the man and scared for her well being, especially since she'd run out of school because of him. He squeezed her hand gently, "You can't-you can't go back there. You can't get hurt because of me." He wanted to take her somewhere safe, but he had no where to go, he usually tried to find a way to hide in the school after everyone left and showered in the locker rooms and found something to sleep on. He didn't know Nazar had already offered to take her in.
Nazar nodded, "Okay, I'll remember that," she usually picks me up after school if you want to meet her then and Rissa can come with us."

But in the corner, at the cold
hour of dawn, sat the poor girl, with
rosy cheeks and with a smiling mouth,
leaning against the wall--frozen to
death on the last evening of the old
year. Stiff and stark sat the child
there with her matches, of which
one bundle had been burnt.
"She wanted to warm herself,"
people said. No one had the
slightest suspicion of what
beautiful things she had seen;
no one even dreamed of the
splendor in which, with her
grandmother she had entered
on the joys of a new year.
