PERSONALITY: Lia is a very soft and delicate person. She tries very hard to make everyone who meets her her friend, because Lia's paranoid of becoming shunned. After her family died, leaving just her and her older brother, Lia hasn't been as placid and gentle as she used to be, and instead keeps strangers at a distance.

HISTORY:Born blind, Lia's first few years after birth was filled with surgery after surgery, costing her parents a fortune to bring back there daughters eyesight. It took a total of eight surgeries and two years for Lia, which overall was almost $20,000. With Adran and Addison being born just two years before Lia, the Katen's were struggling, and ended up living a very poor life in a two bedroom apartment near Maine. Life was so miserable for Lia, because she was teased and made fun of because of her families lifestyle, and she threated to kill every one of them. Lia was kicked out of school for threatening a students life, leaving her the only option of being homeschooled.
With her mother having to quit work to homeschool Lia, the once poor family dropped to a new level of poverty, forcing them to move out of their apartment, and into something much smaller. Blaming herself for her families hard life, Lia ran away from home, packing what little she could find, and set off to a location farthest away from her family. She stayed hidden and ran from the police anytime she saw them, and got by for almost 3 years before her brother found her. Adrian forced Lia to come home when he told her mom was sick, the pair rushed back home, only to find their dead mother covered in blood, and a their new little sister right beside her.
Lia went crazy, shunning everyone and leaving once again, only to have Adrian follow her. They trekked all the way to New York, living off of mediocre jobs that they could do for a month or two. When they finally made it to the border of New York, there was a large Earthquake. A young girl who looked in her late twenties pulled Adriand and Lia into her secret shelter, and they stayed out until the disasters were over. They thanked the woman and headed back home, trying to find their family and make sure they survived. But when they got there, everyone was gone without a trace, and Lia had assumed they were dead.
Keeping a calm facade, Lia and her brother now live in their abandoned home, just a few things were damaged, but nothing Adrian hadn't fixed, and the pair are trying to live peacefully as hunter gatherers till they find more people.
