Sam sighed as a nurse came in. Not Gabriel, but at least he was aloud to leave. He scanned the busy waiting room as he left and his eyes locked with a very pretty black haired boy. He waited and watched the boy sign in and go sit down. As luck would have it Sam would have to pass by him to get to the door. A well placed 'trip' and he would be in.

Was he looking at me? Kris's mind babbled on. The aforementioned curly blond had, Kris hoped, just looked over here. Slightly embarrassed, he tucked his legs closer to the seat and further buried his head into his hand. Besides, Kris was tired. The boy in the lobby probably didn't even actually look over at Kris, let alone think about the scrawny nerd boy that is himself. He felt like one of those giddy teen girls who fantasized over boys in magazines-- attracted but somewhat mad that a relationship like that would never happen. He raised his hand up a few inches and waved ever so slightly, hoping the lobby boy had seen it.

Sam had started over to the boy and cursed his luck again that day as he watched him tuck in his feet. The old trip routine wouldn't work now, he didn't want it to seem like he tripped over his own feet. That wasn't very attractive in his opinion. And then he saw it. That tiny little wave, almost unnoticeable but he saw it. He took a quick look around and no one else had noticed. It was for him! He smiled and made the rest of the way over to the boy in question settling into the chair next to him.

"Yes?" He asked with a smile.

Kris's stomach fluttered softly. "I- uh, I mean, hi. I'm Kris." His voice was quieter than usual. Curse his shyness. "Who are you?" He smiled weakly at the boy now seated next to him. Then the wave of self-conciousness hit him. Did his breath smell bad? What about stuff hidden in his teeth, or even in his nose? Did he have to hide his badly scalded hand? He hid his bad hand anyways. That just wasn't a pretty sight.

He smiled at the boy's flustered response. He had alway found shyness very attractive. His mother told him it was because his personality was so strong if he ever ended up with another strong personality they would most likely kill each other. "I am Sam" He held out his hand and looked a little startled when Kris hid his. "You okay there?" Concern written on his face.

"What? Oh, yeah," Kris moved his injured hand slightly forward and splayed out his fingers. "it's a coffee burn from work." He looked over at it critically. It was red and inflamed, the hint of brown stain marks in a few places. "What put you in the hospital?" Kris asked him, slightly tilting his head to look for any obvious wounds on Sam. He found himself staring at Sam's hair a little later.

Sam shrugged "Got hit the head by a suitcase. After all the cat scans and what not its official that I don't have brain damage so I am actually heading out today." He took the opportunity to look a little closer at Kris. Even with his burn his fingers looked long and elegant, his eyes were dark and stunning, and he had glasses. Sam always found glasses cute. "So where is it you work?"

"Gabriel" he replied, a small smile replacing the grin. "Now, you just stay here and I'll go get a few things." He turned back and made his way to the closest medical closet. Opening the door, he grabbed a cold pack and a sturdy bandage, returning to Kaede and setting the things on a table beside him. "I need to put a cold pack on your wrist for about 15 minutes, until the swelling goes down a little, then I should be able to check how bad a sprain it is, bandage it up and you're good to go"

Gabriel, Kaede thought. He'd have to make sure he ingrained that name into his memory, because he surely wanted to get to know this boy. He watched Gabriel bustle around, then held out his wrist when he returned. "Okay," Kaede said in a meek voice, his shyness showing through for a moment. He suddenly felt he was a burden, and shifted uncomfortably on the bed, the nails of his right hand scratching against the rough surface of the sheets.
