Echoes finished his checks and mounted his gear. He started up the thrusters and started his run. He noticed the stranger nearby. He dropped out of his run to get a look at her. "A new person this far into the race huh?" He thought. "Wouldn't hurt to say hello I guess." he landed and walked over to alex and extended his hand. "Hello, I'm Echoes the Hedgehog." He said. "You look new so I thought I'd come over and say hello."

As Onyx breathed out, the rest of the nanos which Thaderus had sent into his system flew out with the exhale. Thaderus had already shut them off, but not before collecting some DNA samples, Thaderus was interested in the parcuilair infection that turned Onyx's feathers into metal shards.

Shadow recoiled holding his stomach. He smiled, "Geuss I need to step it up a notch." He said staggering away from Phionex. "She can copy forms," Shadow thought anaylzing his options. "But can she copy abilities." He looked back up at phionex. "Let's test it." He built up energy into his palms. "Chaos Spear!" He yelled unleashing a barrage of energy blasts at Phionex.

Blade walked to the kitchen and got a glass of water before sitting down near the window. He looked out at the clouds trying to remember at what time The Armada was estimated to arrive. "They're bound to be here soon.." He thought taking a sip. "I sure Thaderus comes through with thoses bombs, otherwise we'll be at a disadvantage. The armada is sure to send something that is gaurenteed to bring down the ship, that and Eggman will probley be not far behind now that Thaderus failed and Sonic is still on board."

Knuckles looked on as Shadow fired shot after shot into the dust cloud created by the intial barrage of energy blasts. He couldn't make out the silouete of Phionex from all the debris that was thrown up as smoke and dust as the gorund around Phionex's position was blasted into dust and ash.

Jet, Wave, and Storm all zipped by where Alex was sitting. Wave cringed at the sight of another cat, she flew closer to Storm. She knew she could depend on the big lug to keep the cats away from her.
"Watch where you're flying Wave!" Storm complained nudging her a bit.
"Uh...sorry."

Phoenix coughed as the spear hit the ground infront of her. "Well then, lets see what other tricks you have..." She teleported a couple of feet and reapeared behind Shadow hitting his in the back. "Oh, teleportation was never my best stealing skill..." She said holding her head and leaning on Shadows back.

"So it can also copy abilities." Shadow thought remianing calm. "Which must mean it's copying my DNA somehow. But to what extent? Does she have the same amount of energy? Either way, baiting it to duplicate me works in my favor, I at least know the extent and variations of skills it can use while copying me. Further more, I'm not sure if it is fully aware of my weaknesses, which can also work in my favor." Shadow usedhis rocket shoes to dash away out of Phionex's reach. "I need to take it out quickly, a prolonged fight doesn't work in my favor." He looked at Phionex. "Hmph, even as a fake your pathetic." He said. "Now witness true power!" A red arua began to envelop Shadow, he opened both his plams in Phionex's direction. He grunted as he collected more power untill a shining light formed between his hands. "Chaos Spear!" An even larger and more powerful barage of energy blasts busrt from Shadow's palms untill phionex was enveloped in a energy feild. He then launched a powerful single burst at the feild triggering all the built up energy to detonate resulting in a large boom and a blinding flash.

Blade felt the ship rock as the detonation of energy occured. "That had better not be Thaderus." he said getting up.

Echoes also felt the rocking, it was small and quick which must mean it was a ways off from his location.

Thaderus also heard the explosion. Based on his knowledge of detonations, he pulled out a map and plotted where the explosions might have occured and forewareded the map to Liz.

Alex looked up. "Hey hot stuff, I'm Alex the Cat." she said, standing and giving a flirtatious wink. It WAS in her nature after all. "Pleased to meet you Echo." she said.

Phoenix lost Shadows form and dissolved into a puddle of purple ooze. *owww, that hurt...maybe this wasn't such a good idea...* she thought to herself before trying to drag herself in puddle form away from the scene.

Onyx, to no avail tried to step on her as she slithered away, but the ooze just worked its way around his boot and cept moving. "Reid! Go and get a plastic container or something..."
Liz had received Thaderus's map and materialized near the group. "Maybe this would be more sufficient?" She asked forming a box out of the metal particals in the ship.
"Yeah, it might...thanks." Onyx said going to take the box from her but stopped and let reid grab it instead, he didn't need Liz shorting out.
"I'll stay here and try and get it in the container with these guys, go up to the girls dorm and see if you can find Mitch." Reid said walking after the puddle that was slowly progressing.
"Ok, come on Liz." He said turning and running up the stairs with the A.I. behind him.

Wave saw the ground shift under them a bit and she pulled over. Jet and Storm circled back and hopped off beside her.
"Whats up with you?"
"Did you two not see that?"
"See what?" Storm said looking behind them at where Alex and Echoes were. "The cat?"
"No! The ground shook! Geeh, sometimes i wonder how you two manage to survive...let just keep practicing, if i see another then i'll tell you."

Sypris felt the building shake a bit as she held onto Onyx's kids. "That didn't sound good..." She said looking at Lazer who was looking out a window.
"Take the kids back to your ship, then you can focus on the race and not have to worry about getting them back there later."
"Ok, come on you two." She said flipping her board underneath her feet and let the two climb on top.
"Bye captain Lazer." The two said in unison before Sypris shot out of the building and off of the ship.

Shadow calmed his energy and lowered his hands returning to a normal posture. "What a waste of time and effort." He said looking at the box. "It wasn't even good enough to copy me." He looked at Knuckles and Tails. "And if you two are done sitting there with led in your shoes, perhaps you can do something useful." Knuckles clentched his fist but did nothing. He knew it wasn't a smart plan to take Shadow on, otherwise he might end up in a worse state then Phionex. Shadow walked towards the arena.

Echoes blushed a bit. "Er.. Yeah," He said after a small stuter. He quickly regained his composure. "Anyway, Welcome to the race. I'm curious, what skill type is your gear?"

Blade sat back down as the ship settled. "Guess it was just some crash on the practice course." He thought.

Thaderus figured that it would be useful to write up a new security program. He was almosts ure this wouldn't be the last fight resulting in damage so he created a program that would alow the main computer to pinpoit detonations on the ship just seconds after they occured. He forewarded the program to Liz lableing it as "Optional security upload." In the coments he put, "Not a virus."

"Speed." Alex said, smirking a little when she saw a small blush. She normally had that effect on people. "And what, might I ask, if yours?"

"Flight type." Echoes said. Echoes felta rining in his ear. He tapped the back of his right ear. "Excuse me for a sec." Echoes said turning away from Alex.

"What is it?"
"How's the practice going?" Blade asked.
"Practice is working out just fine. Met someone new."
"Someone new? This far into things?"
"That was my first thought was well."
"You'd best be careful then." thaderus said jumping into the comunication line. "Could be an enemy agent."
"Doesn't look that way."
"I share Thaderus' concern. You best be careful."
"All I did was say hello, its not like I told her anything about any plans or secrets."
"Keep it that way." thaderus abrutly cut out of the conversation.
"He always needs to have the last say doesn't he?"
"Just like old times."

Alex waited. She looked at him curiously and blinked her big blue eyes. She wondered what he was doing. She shrugged. It was really none of her business.

Echoes tapped behind his ear again closing the communication link with Blade he looked over at Alex. "Sorry to do this, but I have to go somewhere." he said. "Perhaps I can talk to you after my race. see you." With that Echoes got back on his gear and flew towards the exit to the practice area. As he passed Wave and the Rogues, he gave them a small two fingered salute before leaving the arena.

Shadow saw Blade on his way to the arena. Blade saw Shadow and stood up as he aproached. "Are you Shadow, or the imposter?" Blade asked. Shadow looked at Blade.
"If I was the imposter, I'd look more like you." Shadow said. "Besides, no one can copy me." Blade sat back down.
'Yep, the real one for sure." He put his elbow on the table and rested his cheek in his hand.
