Meaningless lyrics float in and out of her head as she quietly runs a long, slender finger down the black coverlet. The sunlight peers into her small attic room through the tiny window, a beacon of happiness that promised the world but gaze nothing but a quiet kiss to Cara's face. Racked with silent sobs, his eyes squeeze shut and he curls into a ball in the hollow of the tree.Clad in her wolf skin, Olivia bounds through the forest, paws thrumming against the ground as she sprints through the forest. Fresh, bright smells rush into her nostrils, and she breaths them all in again, glad to be free. Her skin tingles where her fur is rippled and tugged by the wind, and her ears are swiveling and turning, taking in every sound.Jake sits in the shadows of a huge oak tree, shavings of wood sprinkled across his lap and chest. His eyes, half-shut with concentration, peer at a sliver of wood in his hand. The very tip of a silver pocketknife flicks in and out of the wood, flashing in the dappled sunlight the shines through the leaves of the oak. In a rush, Olivia sprints past him, causing him to start and prick his finger on the knife's edge. cursing, he gets up and starts the long walk back to the pack's house, sucking on the little cut on his finger.
