Dean walked towards a small grassy area, looking fine in the light of the sun. His black sneakers trod lightly on the concrete walkway, making Dean realize he forgot something. A peculiar habit he had, the boy would always verify his surroundings before entering the scene. He smiled, and checked the small park. No, not much action here. The only thing Dean noticed was a rather petite looking girl, sitting on the edge of a fountain. (Marie) He shrugged, and headed over to a Cherry red tree, the flowers looked as if they were just blooming. Dean sighed contentedly, and leaned against its rough brown wood. As always he took out the tanned looking cigarette, and put it in his mouth. Then, he reached into his pocket, and dug out his lighter. For a moment, he studied it. It wasn’t exactly fancy, the lighter was metal, red rimmed. After a while of staring at it, he lit the cigarette, and felt calmer. Dean grinned, and relaxed against the tree, the hazy smile resting on his lips. A few yards away, a few boys, perhaps his age or older, were texting. Dean had gotten used to living a bit like a human, and was now familiar with every thing they used. He took out his own cell phone he had bought a couple of months ago, and started doing the same thing. Hey Max u get them yet? Dean texted, his fingers moving rapidly against the small keyboard. Max was a young boy, perhaps thirteen or fourteen who supplied him with drugs. In return, Dean would buy him alcohol, and his own cigarettes. Thank god, he didn’t charge money.
Katie smiled lightly at the boy who stood in front of her. He was cute, dark brown hair, a few freckles dotted his face. A nice body, she noticed he had muscular arms. But he wasn’t the boy she was looking for. He was sweet of course, and she would have gone out with him if she hadn’t been on this, small mission of hers. “Sorry Andy, but I’m busy” She answered, he frowned. Kate sighed, yes; he could tell she was lying. “Oh, um. Ok.” He gave her a fake smile. “I’ll see you later then…” Andrew said, and quietly walked off. Katie grimaced. It was hard to see them after they’ve been rejected. Kate had never meant to hurt them, but they took it the wrong way. Always.
